On Wednesday, May 6th I was invited down to The Hun School of Princeton by my friend, colleague, and quarterback guru Tony Racioppi as the top school in New Jersey hosted their private, on-campus college showcase.

Because Hun is not governed by the NJSIAA, they are allowed to announce open showcase dates for colleges to visit campus and evaluate their talent. As such, schools including Georgia, West Virginia, Boston College, UMass, Louisville, Florida, Nebraska, Maryland, Monmouth, and Rhode Island - amongst many others, were all in attendance.

The showcase first featured a team dynamic warmup, followed by agility and explosion drills. All these provided myself and the college coaches in attendance to see exactly how athletic and mobile the team was. From there, the team broke into indy periods. I was unaware of the showcase's run of show and as such, I unfortunately did not get an opportunity to evaluate neither defensive linemen nor defensive backs during indy. The event concluded with approximately an hours worth of routes on air.

Getting a first hand look at all the talent Hun has to offer, below are my scouting notes for the prospects specified in the title of this article. These prospects' hometown are in states all across the land.

Be sure to follow me on Twitter for the latest New Jersey high school football prospect news and not miss a beat!

One of only two quarterbacks to participate in this showcase was young [player_tooltip player_id='1597944' first='Hudson' last='Bienko']. Bienko, a Morristown resident, stood out because of his side - come to find out, he is still in 8th grade and attends Hun's lower school, which made sense. Size aside, the first thing that stood out to be about Bienko was that his throwing motion was nearly identical to that of varsity starter Lukas Prock's, whereas the two had nearly matching, quick, releases. Yes, he is still a puppy, but he moved extremely well. Mechanically, he will benefit from setting and planting off of his lead foot more sturdily, as he does not have enough raw strength in his body to get all that he can on the ball. That said, Bienko showed that he can get more on the ball when necessary, such as hitting a speed out from midfield. More of a downward motion or spin of the wrist will prevent Bienko's passes from going high at times, and he also needs to push the ball a bit more toward the sideline on wheel/circus routes. However, all-in-all competing with high-level prospects I thought that the 2030 graduate showed outstanding promise that can make Bienko a top quarterback in his class.

A prospect that I starred as one of my favorites was [player_tooltip player_id='1276735' first='Colt' last='Inman']. A hometown kid from Princeton, Inman showed soft hands that he used to extinguish a hot one over the middle, making the catch look easy. With more than enough wiggle, this 200lb running back showed some ability to shake-and-bake. Additionally, when running a deep wheel route I noted how Inman made an outstanding adjustment to the ball.

From one strong program to another comes [player_tooltip player_id='2138188' first='Tommy' last='Douglas']. Formerly of Chatham, Douglas now lives in Haddonfield and attends Hun. Doulgas showed that he moves extremely well for a big guy - in all directions. I thought that he also pushed upfield well, indicating that he can get linebackers and safeties on their heels quickly. Ball skill-wise, I remarked how he made a good adjustment to a ball that the quarterback short-armed.

An import from Glen Ridge, John Leone is a prospect looking to crack the lineup. After not having much film to work with at his former home, Leone showed that he is likely a tight end. I thought that he was a bit too cumbersome to play receiver.

The Hun School of Princeton Showcase Coverage

Pennsylvania Prospects
Massachusetts Prospects
Far and Wide Prospects
Far and Wide Prospects, 2
New Jersey Prospects
New Jersey Prospects, 2
New Jersey Prospects, 3
