The Chargers hit the road last week to face Sequoyah and they received an excellent defensive performance as McMinn Central beat the Chiefs, 43-0 where Mayfield was an absolute nuisance in the secondary. This senior two-way performer put forth his best defensive performance of the season where he generated four tackles on the night while defending three passes and picking off three more. Mayfield is an under the radar athletic guy that could develop on either side of the ball with maybe his best upside coming in the defensive backfield. More performances like this the rest of the way will help grow Mayfield’s college stock and force schools to look harder in his direction.
