PRZ Exclusive: Hun School Showcase, Prospects from Far and Wide 1

On Wednesday, May 6th I was invited down to The Hun School of Princeton by my friend, colleague, and quarterback guru <a href="https://x.com/Tonyrazz03">Tony Racioppi</a> as the top school in New Jersey hosted their private, on-campus college showcase.   Because Hun is not governed by the NJSIAA, they are allowed to announce open showcase dates for colleges to visit campus and evaluate their talent. As such, schools including Georgia, West Virginia, Boston College, UMass, Louisville, Florida, Nebraska, Maryland, Monmouth, and Rhode Island - amongst many others, were all in attendance.   The showcase first featured a team dynamic warmup, followed by agility and explosion drills. All these provided myself and the college coaches in attendance to see exactly how athletic and mobile the team was. From there, the team broke into indy periods. I was unaware of the showcase's run of show and as such, I unfortunately did not get an opportunity to evaluate neither defensive linemen nor defensive backs during indy. The event concluded with approximately an hours worth of routes on air.   Getting a first hand look at all the talent Hun has to offer, below are my scouting notes for the prospects specified in the title of this article. These prospects' hometown are in states all across the land.   Be sure to follow me on <a href="https://x.com/BrendanScoutsNJ">Twitter</a> for the latest New Jersey high school football prospect news and not miss a beat!   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />    Unfortunately due to the timing of this showcase's segments, I did not get a chance to see Rex Puccetti perform during indy. From the looks of him though, Puccetti, a Toronto, Canada native, is as a strong fame and build, and moved well during agilities. I thought he was a solid looking athlete, a bigger one at that, who appears that he could play a number of tough-and-gritty roles on the football field.     One of the largest prospects in attendance was tight end Lachlan Earhart. Earhart showed solid fundamentals as he looked the ball into his hands when it was thrown his way. There was one rep, however, he took for granted. On a ball that a bit arrant, rather than adjusting his body and hands to make the sound, fundamental play I expected him to make, the Erie, CO product vied for a fruitless one-handed attempt. Additionally, Earhart was a bit of a lumberer, non-explosive, and slow moving in my opinion. Offensive line may be in his future.     Arguably, the best tight end performance on the day came from Collin Walls, who came to Hun by way of Fishers, IN. Walls turns and runs very well. Yes, it is much lighter than his positional counterpart, but he moves laterally in ways they cannot. Ball skills are a part of his game too, as we see Walls adjust when necessary. In my opinion, Walls was head-and-shoulders their most twitchiest tight end, and perhaps skill, that I saw perform live.     Amir Hogans, one of the Hun School's more highly regarded prospects, was an athlete who covers a lot of ground quickly. You can tell that Hogans has put in the skill work required to succeed. I watched as he adjusted his hands correctly, and fundamentally sound, when balls were delivered high or low; while he also returned to the ball on comeback routes. Tracking the ball deep is also something Hogans that appeared second nature to him, as he extended his arms effortlessly to corral those bombs. As you can tell, the details matter to Hogans - and so does a leadership role. As one of the younger receivers ran a proper out, rather than a speed out which the pattern called for, Hogans took the time to correct that player and review the footwork necessary to win that route on his next rep.     I got just a glimpse of Philip Halpin rathern than an extended look. Halpin was a very smooth runner; this smooth style translated to his routes as well.
