Prep Redzone was live with observations from the first ever EDGYTIM Spring Showcase. The combine formatted event was held in Springfield, IL at the SCHEEL Sports Complex in The Dome, on a field turf surface, and climate controlled. Top prospects from all over the Land of Lincoln showed up to measure in and test in the 40, pro shuttle and broad jump. One retriever in this group continued to prove why he is a top prospect in his class, while others emerged and put their names on the map.

*** Use code StopPRZ30 to catch 30% off your subscription to Prep Redzone ***

[player_tooltip player_id='1683691' first='Kenny' last='Bratton'] | Centralia | 2028

Le'Kendrick "Kenny" Bratton popped on tape as a sophomore, and the multi-sport star certainly looks to be amongst the top prospects in the Class of 2028. Measuring in at 6010 180, Bratton on the hoof looks built for explosion and speed. Arguably the best pass catcher at the event, and one of the best overall athletes at the event, Bratton backed up the tape, and the verified 4.67x40, 4.39 shuttle, 9'7 broad are good sophomore times that should only improve moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='2176878' first='Javion' last='Oliver'] | Carbondale | 2027

Oliver measured in at 5100 151 and ran the fastest 40 time amongst all groups and classes with a 4.54, a run that definitely passed the eye test. He also recorded 9'7 broad jump. Through he may have been one of the smaller built skill athletes, he definitely performed in a big way during one on ones. Oliver was fast, explosive, dynamic in short areas creating separation, and often times made defenders look quite silly. Some pass catchers were tough covers due to their size. Oliver was a tough cover due to his speed and quickness.

[player_tooltip player_id='2176882' first='Nate' last='Swaney'] | Rochester | 2027

Swaney was one of several competitors from Rochester that had a nice day on the turf. Measuring in at 5094 160, Swaney tested very well with a 4.63x40, 4.31 shuttle and 9'6 broad jump. Numbers translated in his ability to be quick off the line and change direction in-route. He comes back to the ball, caught with soft hands, showed some verticality, and seemed natural looking the ball in over the shoulder.

[player_tooltip player_id='2176885' first='Weston' last='Washburn'] | Staunton | 2029

Washburn was one of a handful of freshman-rising sophomores that performed at a high level through the afternoon. Straight away, his size and build was noticeable, particularly for his age. Washburn measured in at 6024 195, and tested a respectable 4.93x40, 4.65 shuttle, 9'0 broad jump. The way his development moves forward will the point of attention, as surely a young prospect with this size and those testing numbers has a chance to grow into an F-TE over the course of the next couple of years.

[player_tooltip player_id='2176896' first='Trevon' last='Williams'] | Chicago Agricultural Sciences | 2027

From the Chicago Public League came this multi-sport athlete that just recently popped his school's 110 meter hurdle record. Williams measured in at 5105 166 and tested 4.80x40, 4.38 pro shuttle, 9'0 broad jump. Williams excelled in the indy drills with this quickness and mobility. During the one on ones, he stood out with his ability position himself to execute in contested ball situations.

[player_tooltip player_id='1163337' first='Kaden' last='Wedig'] | St. Joseph-Ogden | 2027

Wedig was one of a pair of walk-up registrants that put together a quality day on the turf at The Dome. Measuring in at 6007 198, Wedig put up solid testing numbers at 4.75x40, 4.43 pro shuttle, and 9'7 broad jump. With a good overall combination of size and athletic ability, Wedig ran some crafty routes and was able to produce against the best secondary talent, particularly on the deep balls, using his larger frame to his advantage, a tough competitor one on one.

Tyree Taylor | Staunton | 2029

Taylor was another walk-up registrant, and another one of the showcase top performers from the freshman-rising sophomore class. Taylor measured in at 5086 164, testing at 4.82x40, 4.71 pro shuttle, 8'9 in the broad jump, solid times there for a freshman receiver. Taylor is a developing multi-sport athlete with track build that indicates explosiveness. So far this springtime, Taylor has timed as fast as 11.8 in the 100m meter, and recorded a 20'3 in the long jump, while also competing in several other sprint and relay events. He is one to have on the radar.

Additional Pass Catchers

Tap in below to read more on the top performers amongst the tailbacks and tight ends that also produced in the passing game competition periods.
 https://prepredzone.com/2026/05/edgytim-spring-showcase-offensive-skill-prospects-emerged/

PREP REDZONE EXPOSURE SERIES COMING TO CHICAGOLAND!

https://twitter.com/PrepRedzoneIL/status/2039742197621285275

*** Use code StopPRZ30 to catch 30% off your subscription to Prep Redzone ***
