Friendly looks and moves more like a receiver at this point, but when factoring in how I assume he is going to grow, he has a future as a TE. He is a towering basketball athlete with a truly massive catch radius. He is big and has elite reach, but I love how he attacks the ball in the air. He is raw, but is still able to work the entire field as a route runner and can even make plays in YAC settings. Friendly is probably going to be more of a “big receiver” in any scenario where he reaches the next level.

I just highlighted Friendly this week, who is a bit of a tweener at this stage. Regardless of where his position is long-term, what he can do above the rim sets the intrigue here. He is a big, tall basketball athlete with impressive leaping skills and body control. What really sets him apart for me is that he isn’t just bigger than his opponent; he goes up with intent and attacks the ball. Similar to Ballinger, somebody will take a flyer and bank on the upside here.

Friendly is a towering, raw, true rare traits prospect who is someone easy to dream on. He doubles as a basketball athlete and is built like one, too, sporting a skinny, lean frame with space to add weight. He is a long strider with the vertical presence to naturally set up opportunities underneath, but he is a consistent winner above the rim, which is what will translate and be his calling card at 6’6. He might outgrow a traditional WR spot, which could take a year or two of seasoning before he is ready. Regardless, he wins vertically, and he does so with energy and timing, not just his height and reach.
