This impact transfer wasted no time taking over the backfield for Decatur. Vernon Deshields brings a dynamic blend of versatility and elusiveness to the Seahawks’ offense. With the ball in his hands, he consistently makes the first defender miss and uses his shiftiness to evade would-be tacklers, often breaking through arm tackles and turning short gains into big plays.

Deshields racked up 1,097 all-purpose yards and scored 10 touchdowns during the season, becoming a key playmaker for Decatur. With his game-changing ability in open space, expect Deshields to continue putting up big numbers in 2025.
