I was completely shocked to find out that this past fall, as an eighth-grader, was Nayak’s first season of playing tackle football since he was in the fourth grade. Nearly every prospect getting ready to enter their freshman year have technique work to do, and while Nayak is no exception to that, he isn’t too far behind the masses, despite not playing for several years. He has a very solid build and is strong at the point of contact. Obviously he’s raw and has a lot to learn about playing in the trenches, but he has a lot of natural gifts that should catch him up quickly. Not to mention he’s also a wrestler so a strong base and hand-to-hand combat is nothing new to him.
