Tylan Alejos Tylan Alejos 5'9" | 200 lbs | RB Topeka High | 2022 State KS , 5-foot-9, 190 pound back, 2022, Topeka High:
High has had to rely heavily on the big senior, and he came up huge against Highland Park. The rivals are struggling for wins this year, so the Trojans fed Alejos all night to make sure they got the victory. Alejos combination of power and speed led to an unbelievable 400 yards and 8 touchdowns on 27 carries. He broke long scoring runs of 70, 51, 32 and 31 yards among his eight scores.
Tre Richardson Tre Richardson 5'10" | 165 lbs | ATH Highland Park | 2023 State KS , 5-foot-9, 160 pound back, 2023, Highland Park:
The Scots came up short on the scoreboard, but Richardson nearly matched Alejos’ historic night. Richardson rushed just five times, but amassed a ridiculous 210 yards. He also caught five passes for 80 yards, and returned two kicks for touchdowns. In all, Richardson scored five touchdowns.
Vinny Smith, 6-foot, 187 pound back, 2022, Manhattan:
The Indians pulled away from a tough opponent in Seaman Friday night, in large part due to Smith’s breakaway ability. The senior carried 14 times for 194 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Kaden Ireland, 6-foot-2, 180 pound back, 2022, Seaman:
Ireland has taken his production to another level the past couple of weeks. After rushing for 90 yards and 2 touchdowns against Topeka West, Ireland was a workhorse against the elite defense of Manhattan. He carried 23 times for 86 yards and a score, showing he can handle the pounding.
Aidan Polter, 5-foot-8, 140 pound back, 2022, Seaman:
In mentioning Ireland, it seems appropriate to give some love to Seaman senior Polter. He held the starting tailback role for the Vikings and helped them off to a great start to the season. Sadly, his season was cut short by injury in the third game of the year, shortly after he burst for a 25-yard scoring run against Junction City. Polter’s return this season is questionable, but he deserves praise for putting up 174 yards and 4 touchdowns in the first two and a half games of the season.
