Rust is not rusty: he has a quick release, strong arm, and throws with good velocity in the short/intermediate game. Ball comes off his hand hot. He can roll out and throw on the move effectively. Rust is a 3-sport Varsity athlete who has success in all 3 sports. He’s a natural athlete who is quick, bends well, and seems to pick up things fairly quickly. He’s got good balance and instincts, which likely come from the 3-sport background. Seeing how he can anticipate things and see them develop is good to see. This past season, he got some run starting, and he threw for 887 yards and 7 TDs, and then added 512 yards and 5 more TDs on the ground with his legs.
