Game Report: Skutt Catholic @ Gretna

Week 6 brought us a big rivalry between the former Class B Gretna Dragons V.S. The Skutt Catholic Skyhawks. This rivalry returned last year and historically has been a close game. Before this week the last two meetings have been super close, Gretna won 31-28 and before that Skutt won 10-9. This game was expected to be another great addition to this rivalry. This was not a close game and is the most Gretna has beat Skutt by in a long time. The game starts out with its kickoff  Skutt kick and Gretna returns and goes far around midfield before giving up the ball. Skutt would then drive down the field creating a tough situation for Gretna and then....... Zane Flores launches the ball and scores tying the game at 7-7 after this Flores and The Dragons get the ball close just for Mick Huber to punch it in making it 14-7. Skutt throws an interception leading Gretna to score again making it 21-7. After that, it was over by half time the score was 42-7 and the game would end at 49-14 Gretna would not let up especially their defense. Blayke Moore and [player_tooltip player_id="167040" first="Bryce" last="Volcheck"] both having interceptions, [player_tooltip player_id="164615" first="Connor" last="Edwards"] having a sack. Mick Huber, Korver Demma, and Conner Edwards would lead Gretna with tackles. Demma with 5, Huber with 6, and Edwards with 7. Gretna’s offense dominated as well Flores threw for 300 yards and 6 touchdowns. Mick Huber having the only rushing touchdown all gears turned for the Dragons. Skutt was able to push and get some turnovers, they were able to get some quick drives and get some points showing they weren’t able to get fully brought down.
