Senior Mustang quarterback Jordan Adams Jordan Adams 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Frederick Douglass | 2021 MD threw for two hundred yards and added thirty more with his legs. This comes to a total of two hundred and fifty yards that Adams was responsible for on the night which is dominant to say the least. If Bishop McNamara can continue its strong quarterback play and team defense then this Mustang program will have a real shot at a WCAC title this season. Let’s take a look at a few players from Friday night who provided key performances.
BISHOP MCNAMARA 20
2022 5’11 190 QB – Jordan Adams Jordan Adams 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Frederick Douglass | 2021 MD
Jordan Adams Jordan Adams 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Frederick Douglass | 2021 MD is arguably the most dynamic quarterback in the entire WCAC this season. He rarely commits turnovers, and he has the unique ability to avoid pressure with his legs and extend the play. When protected, Adams is an incredibly efficient passer with as accurate of a long ball as any other quarterback at this level. He certainly demonstrated that ability against St. Mary’s Ryken, and he will no doubt continue to do so on Saturday against Archbishop Carroll. Jordan Adams Jordan Adams 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Frederick Douglass | 2021 MD is absolutely a division one talent.
2023 6’3 265 DL – Chris Forbes
Chris Forbes delivered another dominant performance against St. Mary’s Ryken. McNamara’s pass rush improved consistently as the contest progressed, and a lot of the credit for that belongs to Chris Forbes. Looking forward to the weekend, Archbishop Carroll quarterback Tysean Helm is very difficult to read and he is very skilled, therefore Forbes and his fellow defensive linemen will certainly have their hands full on Saturday. However, if Forbes continues to breach the backfield with ease like he has been recently, then there’s no doubt that Bishop McNamara will come out with yet another win.
2022 6’1 240 LB – Jude Smith
Jude Smith had a breakout performance last week, and he essentially stopped the entire St. Mary’s running game on his own in the second half. Smith clogged the gaps about as well as you can from the linebacker position. His speed and tackling abilities were both on full display, and it was an extremely impressive performance. The Mustangs will need the best version of Jude Smith on Saturday when the face a very talented Archbishop Carroll offense. Smith is absolutely ready for the division one level.
ST. MARY’S RYKEN 14
2024 6’1 170 QB – Brent Toles
Brent Toles was the shining star on the field for St. Mary’s Ryken against Bishop McNamara. The Sophomore quarterback played well beyond his years, and it’s clear that he will do spectacular things in the WCAC down the road. His youth was barely noticeable, as he made mature decisions and intelligent reads. Toles was able to build a solid lead for the Knights, however, in the end the experience of Bishop McNamara proved too much for SMRHS this time. Brent Toles will continue to shine bright for St. Mary’s Ryken, and scouts everywhere should definitely remember his name.
