Some of the best natural pass rush upside from our junior class resides with this Nashville area edge rusher that is still coming into his own with plenty of room for growth. Williams is a natural athlete coming around the edge that displays an excellent first step along with tremendous closing speed. He comes off the snap quickly then uses his hands and bend to get around his blocker to chase down the ball with fierce intensity. The Spartans junior has shown improved strength at the point of attack this year. Williams is becoming more suited to set the edge versus the run, being able to string it out wide or force the ball carrier inside. The natural tools are there for Williams to become a pass rushing specialist in college but more work is needed to become an every down player, especially at the dinner table and inside the weight room. I think he has taken those needed next steps in his progression this season to have D1, possible Power Four coaches look his way. Williams has also progressed enough to potentially become a “Top 50” ranked prospect for our TN2028 class.
