Currently ranked inside our Pennsylvania 2028 top 250, this junior continues to impress as a versatile two-way prospect who is doing everything he can to help his high school program reach a 7-1 record this coming weekend. Listed at 6’0, 185 pounds with a 3.8 GPA, he has added five pounds of muscle since our previous evaluation. He recently tagged me in his midseason highlight reel, which runs just under three minutes and provides an excellent opportunity to revisit his development. Another wide receiver and safety combination, he fits a recurring theme among the prospects I’ve evaluated recently, although his versatility extends beyond those two positions. The more I study his film, the more intrigued I become by his potential as a collegiate defensive back.
His opening highlight features him aligned at slot cornerback, which wasn’t necessarily what I expected to see. However, I love that he is demonstrating the ability to handle responsibilities beyond traditional safety alignments. Working against an inside slot receiver, he recognizes an out route developing toward the flat and reacts appropriately before tracking back toward an underthrown football. He adjusts away from his initial coverage responsibility, locates the pass and secures an interception. It is an excellent example of his awareness, reaction ability and natural feel for coverage. He understands where the football is going, recognizes an opportunity to make a play and capitalizes without appearing uncomfortable in an unfamiliar alignment. For a prospect who also plays wide receiver and safety, that positional flexibility is extremely encouraging.
His next rep features him working as an inside slot receiver within what appears to be a scissors passing concept. He continues downfield as the football is delivered toward the opposite side of his body, forcing him to adjust his shoulders while maintaining his route and tracking the pass. This is a difficult receiving adjustment, particularly because he must rotate his upper body without completely disrupting his stride or losing sight of the football. He handles it extremely well, securing the reception and finishing the play for a touchdown. I love the body control, concentration and tracking ability demonstrated here. If he intends to pursue wide receiver at the collegiate level, I would strongly consider making this the opening highlight of his reel. If his preferred projection is defensive back, the interception is an equally appropriate introduction. Regardless, these first two reps immediately demonstrate the quality of his overall athletic skill set.
His third highlight features him aligned at safety before rotating downhill into the box against a developing power run. He recognizes the blocking action, attacks the rushing lane and finishes the ball carrier behind the line of scrimmage for a tackle for loss. It is a fantastic rep that demonstrates the physical side of his defensive game. He isn’t simply a coverage-oriented safety who prefers operating in space. He is willing to insert himself into the running game, diagnose blocking concepts and finish plays near the line of scrimmage. Combined with his previous coverage interception and receiving touchdown, these opening three highlights provide a strong argument for his collegiate potential. I believe Division I is a realistic possibility if his development continues, although he could also become an excellent addition for a Division II program in Pennsylvania. I recognize that projection may be a little early, but there is a great deal to appreciate about his all-around game.
The remainder of his midseason tape reinforces those initial impressions. He continues to work from slot cornerback alignments, demonstrating a willingness to support against the run rather than limiting himself to coverage responsibilities. He has a natural nose for the football and consistently appears to understand where offensive plays are developing. His recognition allows him to position himself effectively, whether that means pursuing a ball carrier, challenging a passing window or creating opportunities for pass breakups and interceptions. I particularly appreciate how instinctive he looks when identifying offensive concepts. He rarely appears hesitant about his assignment and has a knack for arriving in the right area to influence a play. His receiving ability is equally encouraging, with consistent hands and the willingness to contribute as a blocker. That blocking effort speaks positively to his motor, physicality and commitment to helping his team beyond simply catching passes.
Overall, this is a prospect whose versatility and football instincts continue to strengthen his evaluation. He has demonstrated legitimate receiving ability, excellent ball tracking, reliable hands, physical run support and the coverage awareness necessary to contribute from multiple secondary alignments. I particularly like the possibility of projecting him as a defensive back at the collegiate level, where his understanding of offensive concepts and willingness to tackle could make him an extremely useful piece. His offensive production shouldn’t be overlooked, but his ability to move between safety and slot cornerback gives him additional positional value. I want to see him in person at some point to get a better understanding of his athletic ceiling and how his physical tools translate against quality competition. For now, I remain very encouraged by his development and believe he has the potential to continue climbing our Pennsylvania 2028 rankings.
