About Shakil

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play with speed, physicality, and instincts. I’m a versatile defensive back who can cover, tackle in space, and make plays all over the field. I bring energy, communicate well, and compete every snap.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a focused, team-first mentality. I’m hardworking, coachable, and always looking to improve. I stay composed under pressure and try to lead by example with my effort, attitude, and discipline.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed strong leadership and communication skills by being a consistent voice on and off the field. I know how to work with my teammates, hold people accountable, and keep the energy positive. I’ve also learned how important teamwork is—trusting the people next to me and doing my job at a high level. Outside of football, I try to give back when I can, whether it’s helping younger kids, etc

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Yes. One of the biggest challenges I faced was breaking my leg before my junior year during 7-on-7. Missing that season was tough mentally because I had to watch instead of compete. But it pushed me to stay disciplined, stay locked in on rehab, and rebuild myself stronger than before. Being sidelined taught me patience, resilience, and how to stay hungry even when I’m not on the field.
