The article to close out the weekend of football is always my favorite one to do of the week. It is our chance to see what we learned over the weekend and give a brief look ahead to the upcoming week. We are going to take a look at the teams performing well as well as throw out a little bit of love to some players that put up strong individual performances in week three. Starting things off with the battle between Fort Smith Northside and Springdale Har-Ber last Friday night. Both the Grizzlies and Wildcats offenses were clicking at a high level and doing an impressive job of executing on the field. The names to remember in this contest are fairly easy to identify. The one-two punch that is the Northside Grizzlies have been in full display on Friday. Both [player_tooltip player_id="201997" first="Sundquist" last="Church"] and [player_tooltip player_id="180296" first="Ty" last="Massey"] churned out the yards on the ground against the Har-Ber Wildcats. Church rushed for 226 yards on 22 carries, while Massey racked up 118 yards on 18 carries. Meanwhile, the Har-Ber Wildcats displayed an explosive offense on Friday night as well. Running back [player_tooltip player_id="91974" first="Hudson" last="Brewer"] is a powerhouse that is difficult to bring down. Brewer is a versatile running back for the Wildcats. He is a dangerous runner, while being a solid receiver out of the backfield. Wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id="134659" first="Peyton" last="McKee"] is a player that exploded on to the scene on Friday night. Going into conference play the offense is clicking for the Har-Ber Wildcats and they will be a dangerous team to play in conference play. Shifting toward the Hot Springs area, everyone that follows high school football closely had been waiting on the Hot Springs Lakeside offense to explode. On Friday night, the Rams did a great job of getting that high powered offense to going. Lakeside quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="93533" first="Jordan" last="Mills"] exploded on Friday night, throwing for six touchdown passes on the night. Mills was 16/24 for 420 yards against Malvern. The Rams are extremely dangerous when the passing game is clicking like it was on Friday night. On Friday night, the El Dorado Wildcats won a shootout with Magnolia 50-30. In the process, the Wildcats had several guys standout in week three. On Friday night, the Wildcats had another linebacker emerge in the form of [player_tooltip player_id="203977" first="Danquez" last="Shelton"]. Shelton had 26 tackles with two of those being for loss. Meanwhile the offensive side of the ball was not without a loss of star power. Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="153818" first="Sharmon" last="Rester"] had another impressive outing. Rester was 13-16 for 289 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed eight times for 101 yards and one touchdown. Wide [player_tooltip player_id="75112" first="Jackie" last="Washington"] was on the receiving end of two touchdown passes while also racking up 163 yards receiving. [player_tooltip player_id="75129" first="DeAndra" last="Burns"] Jr caught three passes for 103 yards and one touchdown. The Wildcats are clearly in mid-season form entering conference play. Closing out our week three what we learned article. We shine on a spotlight on the Heber Springs Panthers this week. The Panthers had an impressive outing Friday night. Quarterback Xander Lindley was 12-18 for 318 yards and four touchdowns. Wide receiver Parker Brown displayed just how explosive he could be racking up 220 receiving yards off three receptions and scoring three touchdowns. Brown was not done however, he had 331 total yards and four touchdowns total in the victory over Dover. Heber Springs is a team to keep an eye on over the next years, Lindley and Brown are both members of the class of 2024. What to watch for this week, is matchup previews of Farmington-Harrison, Fayetteville-Bentonville West, and Bryant-Fort Smith Northside. Plenty of great games this week and we will touch on as many matchups as we can. Enjoy the action this week!
