In one of the premier Week 4 matchups, the Jaguars did it again, knocking off the two-time defending state champions on their home field, 44-22.
Southeast Valley used an incredible 21-point fourth quarter and held the Falcons scoreless over the final 24 minutes after the two put on a thrilling 22-22 opening half for the packed house.
Lathe Muench – Southeast Valley – RB/LB – 5-11, 180
To put it in as simple of words as possible, Lathe Muench was a man among boys for the Jaguars.
The senior running back ran for 168 yards on 37 carries, scoring two touchdowns. Whenever Southeast Valley needed a big first down, they gave the ball to Muench. When they needed a key conversion, they gave the ball the Muench.
Plain and simply, they gave the ball to Muench. And he delivered.
Muench was also part of a defense that held OABCIG out of the end zone in the second half, recording 3.5 tackles including three solo stops. As a unit, the Jaguars had a sack and forced two turnovers.
Colton Brant – Southeast Valley – TE/LB – 5-9 – 180
Speaking of turnovers, Colton Brant sealed the deal with a pick-6 for the Jaguars, returning an interception 33 yards for a score. Brant also had a sack on defense and even showed his athleticism and skills on a 40-yard receiving touchdown.
Brant now has 183 yards and three touchdowns on seven receptions to go along with 12 tackles, three sacks and four tackles for loss.

What helped Lathe Muench run for all those yards? Aaron Graves Aaron Graves 6'5" | 260 lbs | DL Southeast Valley | 2022 State IA , the University of Iowa recruit and one of the top players in the state of Iowa.
Graves, a force up front at 6-foot-5 and 270 pounds, continues to show why Kirk Ferentz and the Hawkeyes offered him as a youngster. He is a future star in the trenches and showed it once again by constantly clearing lanes for Muench.
And Graves plays defense too, recording four sacks while forcing constant double and triple teams to free up his teammates.
Beckett DeJean – OABCIG – QB/DB – 6-1 – 169
OABCIG’s Beckett DeJean did all he could to keep his team in the game, throwing for 222 yards with two touchdowns while adding another 42 on the ground and a third score. But it just wasn’t enough on this night.
DeJean is a true playmaker in the mold of his brother, current University of Iowa Hawkeye Cooper DeJean Cooper DeJean 6'2" | 205 lbs | ATH OA-BCIG | 2021 State IA . In the first half, he and his crew of receivers were able to pick up good chunks of yardage and move the ball, scoring three times.
