The best thing about Monday during the high school season is to check out the top performers. Remember, this is the time of year where everyone, from fans to college coaches, are watching every run, catch, tackle, throw or block. This past week, there were once again outstanding games across the Sunshine State. If you have followed us throughout the years, we never play favorites – win or lose. Here are some of the best from Week 3: Morgan Babb, Merritt Island Christian, rushed 18 times for 232 yards and three touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass – and [player_tooltip player_id="205880" first="Layson" last="Handwork"] led the defense with 17 tackles. Miami Killian junior athlete [player_tooltip player_id="128425" first="Robby" last="Washington"], the son of Cougars' great Bobby Washington, accounted for three touchdowns, over 200 yards and a huge “Big Cat Trophy” over Palmetto. Kade Sanders led the rushing charge with five touchdowns for Keystone Heights, which jumped to 3-0 with a 44-8 rout of visiting Tocoi Creek (0-2). Caleb Freytag scored the go-ahead touchdown as Middleburg extended its best start since 2010, with Mike Mitchell tallying the winning two-point conversion in overtime to win at Alachua Santa Fe. Lane scored three touchdowns and Jacksonville Mandarin bounced back to win. Terrance Johnson rushed for a score and [player_tooltip player_id="128528" first="Jeremiah" last="Shack"] caught a touchdown pass.
