The early signing period is approaching and in the new era of college football with the transfer portal, this has become the standard signing day. As most college programs are working to close out their recruiting classes right now, there are beginning to be some interesting developments among players in the 2026 recruiting cycle, especially in the state of Tennessee.

In this article, we take a look at the latest happenings in recruiting for senior prospects in Tennessee down the final stretch of their processes.

Defensive Lineman Flips Power Four Commitment Again

South Gibson senior defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='889227' first='Yahya' last='Gaad'] has had a wild recruiting process filled with many twists and turns, but he has seemingly settled down for now, although that could change yet again and will be something to continue to watch down the stretch.

The high three-star recruit was originally committed to SMU before getting several new interests and flipping to UCLA. With the firing of DeShaun Foster, he opened his recruitment up and took visits to Vanderbilt and Wisconsin. The official visit to Madison was enough to seal the deal for the Badgers, and he announced his commitment to the program over the weekend.

The question now is will head coach Luke Fickell survive after an up-and-down tenure at Wiscosnin.

https://twitter.com/Hayesfawcett3/status/1977416789744287932

Lineman Flips from Columbia to Vanderbilt

Battle Ground Academy two-way lineman originally committed to Columbia as a defensive lineman, but the allure of playing close to home where his dad played was too much to pass up as he chose to take an opportunity to join the Vanderbilt team as an interior offensive lineman, effectively shutting down his recruitment.

He is athletic enough with the size to play either side of the line of scrimmage and the coaching staff in Nashville has had plenty of success with figuring out how to use under the radar prospects they bring on the team.

https://twitter.com/nateflemingBGA/status/1977390154999328816

Flip Rumors with Blue-Chip Defensive Lineman

Germantown senior defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1285551' first='Djidjou' last='Bah'] is an alignment versatile defensive line with the frame, athleticism, and flashes of hand usage that make him a high-ceiling prospect and an exciting recruit in the class.

He was just that when Wisconsin made him a priority and landed his commitment, but the questions circling around the coaching staff in Madison as mentioned earlier, have opened the door for other programs to make their pitch, with one standing out in particular.

Nebraska has been recruiting Bah in an effort to flip his commitment for a couple of weeks now and formally extended the offer today with the defensive lineman eyeing a visit to campus for a game. This will be something to watch especially as the future of head coach Matt Rhule at Nebraska is questionable as well with plenty of ties to the now-open Penn State program.

https://twitter.com/9ninezer0/status/1977898678116364327

What Will Big 10 Offensive Lineman Commit Do Next

Beech senior offensive tackle [player_tooltip player_id='1114738' first='Jack' last='Fuchs'] is an interesting recruit, being the son of a highly productive offensive line coach as well as having a massive 6-foot-8 frame with athleticism to grow upon.

He is currently committed to Penn State, but that decision was made under the impression he would be playing for head coach James Franklin, who has since been fired.

After a very productive college coaching career, his father would join the Tennessee Titans coaching staff, who has also fired their head coach this week, giving the family a whirlwind of a week.

As they take time to adjust and figure out their futures, what will the mammoth tackle prospect decide is best for him?

https://twitter.com/sports_bk/status/1977873946474115543

West Virginia Commit Visits Colorado

Whitehaven running back Christopher Talley has been committed to West Virginia since July 4th, but this is about the time of year where Deion Sanders and Colorado make their final wave of pushes for potential recruiting targets on their board and it seems that the Mountaineers commit is one of those players.

He visited Colorado last weekend as they knocked off a ranked Iowa State team, getting a essential victory that they hope can turn their season around for the better. Will the atmosphere around a important win like that be enough to flip the running back?

https://twitter.com/wendellsjr_/status/1961592407096484021

UAB Lineman Commit Getting Interest on Both Sides After Trent Dilfer Fired

Germantown senior offensive lineman AJ Amos committed to UAB over the summer over other Group of Five programs, but now things have opened up as the program has fired head football coach Trent Dilfer midseason.

Today alone, he added two more Group of Five offers, but there was an intriguing twist amongst that news. Tulsa offered him as an offensive line prospect as has been the case for him, but Kennesaw State offered him to play along the defensive line for their program.

This will certainly be an intriguing recruitment to watch down the stretch as the Germantown trenches have seen things shake up in their recruitments.

https://twitter.com/AndreAmosJr0/status/1977884651290013941

SEC Program Chipping Away at Group of Five Defensive Line Commit

Despite his commitment to top Group of Five college football program South Florida, star Powell defensive tackle [player_tooltip player_id='1154536' first='Iverson' last='Garcia']-Ponce has not stopped hearing from Tennessee, who is trying to bring him to campus as much as possible.

He has visited for a handful of games recently and with the Tennessee Volunteers not going away, this could be an intriguing recruitment to monitor down the stretch of the cycle.

https://twitter.com/IversonGarcia95/status/1935458935483388056

Knoxville Athlete Adds Local FCS Offer

Gibbs athlete [player_tooltip player_id='1527611' first='Chase' last='Norman'] has received interest on both sides of the ball from college programs, either as an edge rusher or tight end and he continues to weigh his options.

Local SoCon program East Tennessee State University (ETSU) extended an offer to the local product via the tight ends coach today.

https://twitter.com/ChaseNorman_9/status/1977447269881258211

Senior Long Snapper Earns First Offer

The state of Tennessee has arguably become the state of special teams prospects and Princeton has come back to the state in potential hopes on finding a long snapper, extending an offer to Brentwood standout Liam Engelhardt.

This is his first offer he has reported which could make things move quick for him, so keep an eye out here.

https://twitter.com/LiamEngelhardt/status/1977868905323344114
