In a recent conversation I had with a UMass staffer, Ted Mondesir Ted Mondesir 6'2" | 185 lbs | ATH Nottingham | 2026 State NJ visited, sat in on meetings, and then called out coverages, checks, and adjustments on the field as a spectator. So, he obviously has the football smarts, which is something hard to judge on tape. The tale of the tape shows us that Mondesir moves so quickly that even the most subtle of his movements come off as dramatic. With strong vertical abilities, he high points the ball extremely well, while also tracking it over his shoulder with just as much proficiency. As a wildcat, he gains the edge with speed and is only tracked down by Hail Mary-type angles. Defensively, Mondesir is a safety/star linebacker type. He tackles physically, low, and wraps extremely well. Along the perimeter he asserts his superior physical prowess as he absolutely destroys want-to-be blockers. A bit of a risk taker, Mondesir will dip underneath, inside-out, to make plays – but at the same time is disciplined enoguh to reposition himself for his run fit. Mondesir has even dropped back to throw the ball, leading receivers as if quarterback was his primary position.
