Class of ’27 Scouting Report Updates

We recently updated our<a href="https://prepredzone.com/virginia/rankings/2027-rankings/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> Class of 2027</a> rankings to account for some names we missed, names who reclassed, or names who transferred back into Virginia. I have spent the summer working through the class of 2027 updating profiles with new scouting reports. Donte is a WR who has the speed, athleticism, and size to win every 1v1. He has very good acceleration using his length to get to top speed. Good strength through contact and balance to keep his feet. Very good with deep routes and can win the jump ball. Can also take short routes and use his athleticism to make a defender miss to find the open field and use his speed after the catch. Currently holds multiple FBS offers at the P4 and G5 levels. In his first two games, he is playing Left Tackle and Defensive Tackle. Don't let his size fool you, Jordan has good footwork and quick feet, allowing him to have good Pass Sets and climb to the second level versus the run to wall off Linebackers. He has good strength and block sustain that makes it difficult for defenders to disengage him once he has a latch. On defense, he clogs up the middle of the line and has the strength to beat double teams and wreak havoc in the backfield. He can play in Press, Soft, and Off coverage from his Cornerback position with good, tight man coverage. He has no issue facing small, quick receivers or tall, strong receivers. He has very good athleticism, with speed, quickness, and fluid hips. Shows good pursuit in coverage and run defense, and is a dependable open field tackler. His strength and competitive toughness stand out on tape, as he is consistently able to beat double teams and run through defenders while finishing every play through the whistle. His position flexibility on defense shows in his ability to stop the run, defend the pass, and rush the passer from multiple positions on the field. He is a good athlete and reports a 4.5 40-yard dash on his X account. Playing Linebacker and Running Back, he has a good frame. At Linebacker, he is showing good processing to read run/pass and getting to his spot quickly. He comes downhill with explosiveness and leverage, allowing him to evade blocks and stuff the running back in the hole. Shows solid range versus the outside run and in pass coverage. The majority of his tape from the first three games shows him at Linebacker, but the limited reps at Running Back show his strength and willingness to lower his shoulder through contact as a ball carrier.
