Let’s take a closer look at the IAC conference and some of its top players going into the ’21-’22 season! #5|2022 6’0 180 RB [player_tooltip player_id="90599" first="Deangelo" last="Dickerson"] – Landon [player_tooltip player_id="90599" first="Deangelo" last="Dickerson"] is one of the most underrated backs in all of Maryland. Dickerson and the Landon Bears are primed for a big season and it wouldn’t be surprising if Dickerson runs them all the way to the IAC championship game. While he doesn’t have lightning speed or size, Dickerson is always the hardest working player on the field during every play. His yardage after contact will absolutely be top three in the conference this season and his vision as a runner is some of the best in the area. Dickerson is also a two way player. His phenomenal football instincts extend to the defensive end position where he racks up tackles and pressures the ball everywhere on the field. The Landon Bears are absolutely an IAC contender this upcoming season and Senior running back [player_tooltip player_id="90599" first="Deangelo" last="Dickerson"] will be a huge part of their success this season. #4|2022 6’2 170 WR [player_tooltip player_id="90632" first="Carter" last="Phillips"] – Landon – Georgetown There’s not a more quintessential wide receiver in the entire IAC than [player_tooltip player_id="90632" first="Carter" last="Phillips"] this year. For his size, his lateral movement and quickness is off the charts impressive, and his hands are built to haul in passes at the next level. The Bears have a history of running the ball around 75% of the time, but, with Philips lining up in the slot or on the outside, now they will have a more balanced offense. Landon will be very tough to slow down on offense this upcoming season and [player_tooltip player_id="90632" first="Carter" last="Phillips"] truly rounds out one of the strongest Bear rosters in recent memory. The Georgetown commit is set to have a big season. #3|2022 6’1 205 RB [player_tooltip player_id="90603" first="Isaiah" last="West"]- Georgetown Prep – Army [player_tooltip player_id="90603" first="Isaiah" last="West"] is the top running back in the IAC coming into this season and the reason is his dynamic play making ability. There’s not a better receiving back in the entire conference, and he’s very capable of taking a five yard screen pass all the way to the end zone. When he has the ball [player_tooltip player_id="90603" first="Isaiah" last="West"] always finds the open hole and punches through for big yardage. He’s an extremely gifted athlete who’s capable of creating space for himself in ways that other backs couldn’t fathom. Even without the ball, West is an avid blocker in the pass game who has a knack for protecting his quarterback. Every team in Maryland should be on high alert that the Little Hoyas are primed for a breakout year led by Senior running back [player_tooltip player_id="90603" first="Isaiah" last="West"]. #2|2022 6’2 180 DB/WR [player_tooltip player_id="90517" first="Steven" last="Sannieniola"] – Bullis – Vanderbilt The two way player can do it all, and if he goes unblocked on either side of the ball then it’s bad news for the opposing team. At his prior alma mater, Quince Orchard, Sannieniola was a one man wrecking crew who could be found all over the field at any given moment. Sannieniola is a threat to the ball carrier even when he’s lined up in the defensive backfield. He has an incredibly high football IQ and he constantly reads the play before it unfolds. On offense he is equally productive and it just seems like he always knows what the right play to run is in any situation. The Vandy commit is looking to end his high school campaign on a high note and at Bullis his D1 talents will fit in perfectly on route to a potential IAC championship. #1|2022 6’2 180 DB [player_tooltip player_id="90536" first="Oliver" last="Bridges"] – Bullis – Cincinnati [player_tooltip player_id="90536" first="Oliver" last="Bridges"] is an unbelievable talent at the defensive back position and there simply is nothing that he cannot do. On pass coverages Bridges’ football instincts really become clear because if the ball is thrown in his vicinity he’s either going to intercept it or bat the ball down to end the play. No receivers in the IAC have been able to beat him off the line or jump with him so it’s very likely that it continues as such during the ’21-’22 season. The Cincinnati commit also lines up on offense for the Bulldogs, from time to time, where his hands yet again prove to be extremely effective. His speed also shows itself during trick plays which is another aspect of the Bullis offense where Bridges finds himself involved. [player_tooltip player_id="90536" first="Oliver" last="Bridges"] is the #1 player on the #1 team in the IAC conference and everyone should expect nothing less than greatness from both parties this upcoming season.
