I have gone through and compiled my list of North Texas offensive linemen that should be getting more recognition. The players on this list I think could make a contribution at the next level
JARED FONI EULESS TRINITY T 6’2" 300lbs
Jared is extremely aggressive at the point of contact. Shoots out of his stance and quickly makes contact with defensive linemen on run plays. Pancake blocks are a normal thing when watching his film. Uses his hands in pass protection well to keep his opponent on the line of scrimmage.
DREYTON NELSON KELLER FOSSIL RIDGE G 5’11" 210lbs
If there is one thing I know about Dreyton Nelson after watching his tape it’s that he doesnt stop until the whistle is blown. He appears to get joy out of knocking someone to the ground and looking them I’m the face afterwards. he doesnt want to just block defenders, he wants to put them on their back and it shows. You definitely want a competitor like Nelson on your team. Plays with good tenacity and will not give up on plays.
JAKE HALL SOUTHLAKE CARROLL G 6’3" 280lbs
Jake Hall is a very competitive guard out of Southlake Carroll. A tough guy that knows his assignment on every down. Good balance and doesnt get knocked back. There is talent constantly coming out of southlake Carroll, he has been coached well, it really shows.
[player_tooltip player_id="131974" first="Misiolo" last="Maluia"] EULESS TRINITY G 6’2 280lbs
Maluia is a devastating blocker! Anyone in his way get blown off the line of scrimmage and pancaked. Good athleticism and burst make him a big problem to defenders in his way on pull blocks. Run behind Maluia and you will have a productive offense.
SENON CHAPPLE KELLER FOSSIL RIDGE C 6’1" 285lbs
Chapple is a rough and tough guy in the trenches. Plays center and Ridge and easily play at either G position. Great quickness in pull blocks. Perfect lead blocker to run behind. In pass pro he is hard to shed, keeping pass rushers at the line where he found them.
JACOB FONI EULESS TRINITY C 6’2" 295lbs
Jacob Foni is a people mover in the trenches. Can get to the second level with extreme quickness. Delivers brutal blocks on LBs unfortunate enough to get in his way on screen passes. Great at playing to the whistle. Pass protection has Jacob holding up DTs at the line and helps out other lineman when there is nobody in his way to block.
NATHAN TAFF KELLER FOSSIL RIDGE G 6’2" 275lbs
As a guard Taff has the size and strength to push DTs back into the LBs on power runs. In pass protection he shows good hands and intelligence. Cleans up on double teams when there is nobody in front of him. Taff is a big presence on the field and the more experience he receives, the more opportunity he will have to show that.
MATTHEW LARSEN NORTHWEST T 6’2" 300lbs
Through all the film I’ve watched on Larsen I have never seen him get pushed back. Plays through until the whistle, shows great strength not letting defensive ends past the line of scrimmage. Has a good punch in pass protection with good balance.
