Mr. Football: 2A Pre-Season Watch List

Today we take a look at some of the top names across the state in the 2A classification. Year in and year out 2A is one of the most fun classes to watch with an abundance of players making impacts on both sides of the football. Here’s the watch list going into the 2021 campaign for Mr. Football: <a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/ty-murphy/">[player_tooltip player_id="108937" first="Ty" last="Murphy"]</a> | QB | Eupora | JR As only a Sophomore last year, Murphy lead Eupora with nearly 2,000 yards of offense and 16 total TD’s. An athletic frame shows in Murphy as a get it all done type of guy. Murphy will be a very interesting 2023 prospect before all is said and done. <a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/enrico-price/">[player_tooltip player_id="181799" first="Enrico" last="Price"]</a> | RB | West Lincoln | SR Price was electric toting the football as a JR with 1,292 yards in only 9 games with 13 TD’s. A more normal 2021 season should play to the benefit of the West Lincoln star as he looks to take Region 7-2A by storm. <a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/zy-ford/">[player_tooltip player_id="104458" first="Zy" last="Ford"]</a> | LB | East Webster | SR A freakish build is easily noticed when laying eyes on Ford. The true two-way star projects as a LB at the next level but production was ever-apparent on both sides of the ball last year. 49 rushes for 514 yards and 8 TD’s offensively and 96 total tackles and 16 TFLs defensively. Impressive offer sheet for Ford with more bound to be on the way. <a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/jackson-leee/">Jackson Lee</a> | QB | Calhoun City | SR Calhoun City is a yearly powerhouse in 2A and that looks to be the story again this year with a true signal caller at QB in Lee. Two way production both thru the air and on the ground allows the Wildcat offense to tick nicely. Lee had over 2,000 yards of offense and 22 TD’s as a JR last season. <a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/dicenzo-miller-jr/">Dicenzo Miller Jr.</a> | RB | Kemper County | SR The name Dicenzo Miller has been well recognized in the state of MS for a long time. Miller’s numbers as a JR opened eyes across the state with 1545 yards and 18 TD’s on the ground. Miller has no shortage of speed and make you miss ability and has a tremendous motor as one of the true leaders of the offense. <a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/josh-blake/">[player_tooltip player_id="181800" first="Josh" last="Blake"]</a> | ATH | Potts Camp | SR Blake is prone to line up anywhere at any time with value across the board. 6"0, 210lb, flashy athletic build that allows him to take over. Breakout star potential with Blake for the coming year. &nbsp;
