QUARTERBACKS
Zach Pyron Zach Pyron 6'3" | 205 lbs | QB Pinson Valley | 2022 State AL – |6’2 215| |Pinson Valley|
Pyron just keeps on succeeding in his time at Pinson Valley. After leading Pinson Valley to a state title and throwing for 23 touchdowns and 2,314 yards, Pyron has proven to be a natural at the quarterback position. Pyron gave his commitment to Baylor back in March this year and looks to repeat as the 6A champs this upcoming season.
Khalib Johnson Khalib Johnson 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB Clay-Chalkville | 2022 State AL – |6’2 200| |Clay-Chalkville|
After a 2020 season featuring Johnson throwing for 25 touchdowns and 2,476 yards, while also leading Clay-Chalkville to an 11-2 record, Johnson looks to progress even further as a senior. Johnson, currently a Louisville commit, is a talented dual-threat quarterback that has what it takes to be great at the next level. Be on the lookout for him this fall!
RUNNING BACKS
Makhi Hughes Makhi Hughes 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB Huffman | 2022 State AL – |5’10 190| |Huffman|
When given the ball, Hughes is near unstoppable out of the backfield. Hughes has great vision that helps him navigate through the defense, and uses his breakaway speed to get through the secondary to make huge plays. With offers from the likes of Florida State and Kansas, it’ll be exciting to not only watch Hughes in his senior season but also to see who he chooses to play for at the next level!
LT Sanders- |5’9 185| |Gardendale|
Sanders was an all-around offensive weapon for Gardendale last season, where he ran the ball for 1,209 yards and 12 touchdowns, while also recording 34 catches, 655 yards, and 7 touchdowns through the air. Sanders has great vision and hands that have allowed him to create such huge plays both rushing and receiving. Sanders currently has offers from the likes of Arkansas State, Western Kentucky, and Middle Tennessee State with more on the way soon.
WIDE RECEIVERS
Kobe Prentice- |5’10 171| |Calera|
Prentice showed the state what he was made of last year with an impressive 41 catches, 711 yards, and 9 touchdowns! Prentice uses his impressive speed and strong hands to be a threat in the passing game, and it shows many have noticed as he has committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide. Prentice is a player you have to plan around defensively, and it’s going to be a blast to see what he does this fall.
De’Andre Coleman De’Andre Coleman 6'2" | 200 lbs | WR Hueytown | 2022 State AL – |6’2 200| |Hueytown|
Coleman is a physical receiver that makes sure to use his height and size, as he imposes his will against the secondary. In addition to that, he also possesses great speed and uses his long stride to his advantage when stretching the field. Though he hasn’t decided on his commitment yet, Coleman has received offers from Penn State, South Carolina, Virginia, and more!
Marquarius White Marquarius White 6'0" | 165 lbs | WR Clay-Chalkville | 2022 State AL – |5’10 155| |Clay Chalkville|
Posting 44 catches, 877 yards, and 13 touchdowns, White had a phenomenal junior season. White possesses incredible speed, which is clearly shown on the field but also in track with his 10.68 100 meter time. With his speed and strong hands, White has become a favorite target of Khalib Johnson Khalib Johnson 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB Clay-Chalkville | 2022 State AL ’s at Clay-Chalkville. White has recently committed to Tennessee and now looks to continue to develop his game in his last season at Clay-Chalkville.
Jarel Williams Jarel Williams 6'3" | 175 lbs | WR Saraland | 2022 State AL – |6’3 175| |Saraland|
Last fall, Williams posted up 44 catches, 12 touchdowns, and 800 receiving yards, helping open up Saraland’s offense a ton. Williams uses his height and length to make tough catches when contested by defenders and has great body control that helps him get to the ball in tough to reach spots. Williams committed to West Virginia back in March and is going to continue to dominate the 6A before he becomes a Mountaineer!
OFFENSIVE LINE
Patrick Screws Patrick Screws 6'6" | 310 lbs | OL Eufaula | 2023 State AL – |6’6 315| |Eufala|
As a sophomore, Screws rotated around playing both LT and LG. His ability to thrive in both of those positions should express how versatile and dominant he is in both run blocking and pass protection. Screws is a boulder with good flexibility and power, making it near impossible to truly get around him. Screws is headed into his junior season this fall with both Georgia and Arizona State offers, and he will definitely be receiving more with this kind of early talent!
Wilkin Formby- |6’7 300| |Northridge|
Formby is another 2023 offensive line prospect that has been turning heads amongst Power 5 schools. Formby has incredible size, great flexibility, power, toughness, and hand placement that is key to the success of Northridge’s offense. Formby has received offers from Ole Miss, Kentucky, Georgia Tech and he is only going to get more dominant as he progresses into his junior year.
Kenton Jerido Kenton Jerido 6'3" | 320 lbs | OL Northridge | 2022 State AL – |6’3 305| |Northridge|
On the same line as Wilkin Formby at Northridge, Jerido has been fantastic as an offensive guard. Jerido has great positional speed that helps him easily get to the second level, has great strength and point of attack on defenders, and overall is just a force to be reckoned with in the trenches. Jerido heads into his final season at Northridge with his recruiting trail heating up fast, with offers from Troy, Marshall, Southern Mississippi, and more, it’ll be exciting to watch this guy throughout this fall!
Denzel Holder Denzel Holder 6'4" | 315 lbs | OL Huffman | 2022 State AL – |6’5 320| |Huffman|
Holder has been an anchor on the offensive line for a while now and deals with interior pressure as well as anyone else. With a good bend and great strength, Holder has been keeping the pressure at bay for his team. Holder currently lists offers from Wofford and Tennessee Tech with more on the way soon.
Bronson Laney- |6’3 285| |Fort Payne|
Laney has been developing into a staple of the Fort Payne offense with his ability to open up the run game. he has been able to create great space for the rusher to carve through the secondary. Although not currently listing any offers, that will definitely change here this fall.
