DRAYTON, ND-- If you keep taking I-29 north thru Grand Forks on your way to the Canadian border, you might pass thru Drayton or you might blink and miss it. In Drayton, they play 6-man football which is in the smallest division as far as teams go in North Dakota and they are darn good at it too. Located right on the North Dakota and Minnesota border, It's town's population has 722 people, but what did we find out from our latest rankings update? They have some talented athletes in thier 2029 class with more tape available than some 11AAA schools in North Dakota, as each of them hit well over our minimum tape threshold to be our 2029 rankings. Lets meet the four small town sleepers from Drayton as we surely hit the biggest jackpot we have ever hit for 6-man prospects in North Dakota!

The 6'0 225 pounder from Drayton looks like every ounce of that frame when you roll into his tape from his 8th grade season at Drayton as one of the most interesting tapes I have seen over the years in the Dakotas (and that's a lot). Although the tape doesn't show it, he grades out as an offensive linemen in our eyes due to watching his fluidity and downhill movement in the open field. Watching his tape as an H-Back will caught your attention quickly. When he rolls down the field, he looks as a XL bowling ball knocking down pins (defenses) that are in his way with ease wiht his durability. The projection as a left quard with how nimble Johnny is for his size and knowing the strength he has with his hands lead me to feel like Johnny is a 2029 to track over the coming years who sits in the #10 overall spot in the class.

Gavin doesn't take long to show you how slippery he appears to be around the edges of the field for his age and size as a pass-catcher. As a route-runner, Gavin impresses me with his change of direction especially on short routes as he gets well-versed seperation that you might not expect from a 5'8 150 pound wide receiver out of small town North Dakota. He flies off the edge defensively as a sneaky linebacker that knows how to utiilze his sudden burst to find the ball carrier quickly in the backfield. One of the more impressive tape grades I have within our our top 10 in our 2029 class, as one that seems ahead of the bell curve with his football IQ.

Chey is a 2029 athlete that is still has some growing to do into his frame, but the upside with that and his skillsets are there for the taking. It doesn't take long to figure out that this young man can stretch the field from sideline to sideline defensively and makes it look like almost a "walk in the park" with how long his strides and fluid that movement appears to be. He has encourgaing strength for his 6'2 150 pound size with and without the ball in his possession. I put him into our 2029 rankings as an athlete, as at this point it's hard to project positionally where his fit could be as obviously in 6-man football, Chey plays just about everyhwere on all three levels. He holds the #8 overall spot in our 2029 class and our ATH1.

The fourth athlete out of Drayton in this 2029 class that stuck a chord with me was Drayton's [player_tooltip player_id='1740894' first='Praise' last='Chairez']. He has some untapped upside yet to develop with his getting his hands off his defender swifter and smoother, but when Praise gets into the backfield you wouldn't guess his measurables fit his profile as a defensive tackle, as Praise shows off the good pursuit angles and swift knock-back physicality with his tackling ability. He shows off a steady nose for the ball quickly with his vision and one that I hope continues to develop, as he plays on both sides of the ball for Drayton.
