WJFL Players to Watch: American, Capitol, and Classic Divisions

Prep Redzone looks at a few dozen players from the West Jersey Football League that you should watch out for this upcoming season. The majority of these players either have offers, earned all-league, all-region, or all-state honors, or contributed on the varsity level last season. Today we look at the WJFL’s American, Capitol, and Classic Divisions. <h2><b>AMERICAN DIVISION</b></h2> <b>MILLVILLE</b> [player_tooltip player_id="27978" first="LeQuint" last="Allen"]/RB/2022 LeQuint put in some work last season from the running back position. He carried the football 132 times for 550 yards (4.2 ypc) and 11 touchdowns on the ground. LeQuint also caught 34 passes for 286 yards (8.4 ypc) and one touchdown. His is a Syracuse commit. <strong style="font-size: 1rem;">Nate Robbins/</strong><span style="font-size: 1rem;">QB/2022</span> Robbins completed 123-of-216 passes for 1,408 yards, 12 touchdowns  in eight games last season. <b>ST. AUGUSTINE</b> <strong>Trey McCleer/</strong>Ath/2022 McCleer passed for 456 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions last season. He made 39 total tackles (28 solo) from his cornerback position. [player_tooltip player_id="27984" first="Kanye" last="Udoh"]/RB/St. Augustine Prep Udoh carried the football 129 times for 648 yards (5.0 npc) and six touchdowns in seven games last season. He is a Northwestern commit <b>LENAPE</b> <strong>Ethan Poludniak</strong>/DE/2022 Poludniak made 40 total tackles (18 solo) in six games last season. <strong>Kobi Ray-Reed</strong>/DB/2022 Ray-Reed made 56 total tackles (26 solo) in seven games last season. <b>WILLIAMSTOWN</b> <span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="27990" first="Turner" last="Inge"]/Williamstown/ATH/2022</span> <b>SHAWNEE</b> <strong>Matt Welsey</strong>/QB/2022 Wesley completed 97-of-187 passes for 1,048 yards, 10 touchdowns, and two interceptions in seven games last season. <strong>Ian Van Steeg</strong>/WR/2022 Steeg caught 32 passes for 524 yards (16.4 npc) and seven touchdowns last season. <strong>Avery Cohen</strong>/WR/2022 Cohen caught 16 passes for 325 yards (20.3 npc) and three touchdowns last season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="181959" first="Josh" last="Peluse"]</strong>/LB/2023 Peluse made 72 total tackles (14 solo) in seven games last season <h2><b>CAPITOL DIVISION</b></h2> <b>NOTRE DAME</b> Shane Johnson/QB/2022 Johnson completed 34-of-67 passes for 532 yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions last season. <b>HAMILTON WEST</b> Andy Figueroa/5-7/160/DB/2022 Joey LaEzza/6-0/215/RB/2022 <b> TRENTON</b> <strong>Jermaine Tillery</strong>/QB/2022 Tillery completed 28-of-67 passes for 406 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions last season. He also ran the football 71 times for 432 yards and three touchdowns. <strong>Navonn Barrett</strong>/6-1/170/DB/2022 <strong>Sam Gade</strong>/6-4/190/LB/2022 <b>ALLENTOWN</b> <strong>Dan Cruz</strong>/RB/2024 Cruz was second on the team in rushing last season with 370 yards and five touchdowns off 78 carries. <strong>Dylan Leiggi</strong>/OL/2022 <strong>Jake Mangrella</strong>/OL/2022 <b>HOPEWELL VALLEY</b> <h2><b>CLASSIC DIVISION</b></h2> <b>GLOUCESTER CATHOLIC</b> Hunter Parks/6-1/165/WR/2022 <b>ROBBINSVILLE</b> <strong>Jack Kolbe</strong>/QB/2022 Kolbe completed 84-of-138 passes for 1,126 yards, 12 touchdowns, and two interceptions in seven games last season. [player_tooltip player_id="160786" first="Jaylen" last="Gundy"]/WR/2022 Gundy caught 18 passes for 445 yards (24.7 ypc.) and four touchdowns in seven games last season. <strong>Alberto Sanchez</strong>/DL/2022 Sanchez made 41 total tackles (30 solo) in eight games last season. <b>HADDON TOWNSHIP</b> <strong>Reese Levy</strong>/5-11/207/RB/2022 <b>OVERBROOK</b> <strong>Deangello Conquest</strong>/QB/2024 Conquest’s freshman year had mixed results. He completed 67-of-119 passes for 835 yards, nine touchdowns, and eight interceptions in six games last season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="181960" first="David" last="Haywood"]</strong>/WR/2023 Haywood caught 15 passes for 307 yards (20.5 npc) and three touchdowns in six games last season. <b>NEW EGYPT</b> <strong>Jack Kudrick</strong>/6-1/170/QB/2022 Kudrick completed 39-of-77 passes for 601 yards, four touchdowns, and five interceptions. <strong>Adam Harris</strong>/5-11/150/RB/2022 Harris rushed 101 times for 498 yards and two touchdowns last season. He added 20 total tackles. three interceptions, and one forced fumble on defense. <strong>Ashton Sempervive</strong>/6-2/240/DE/2022 Sempervive made 30 total tackles last season. &nbsp; <b>LINDENWOLD</b> <strong>Tien-Amir Siplin</strong>/RB/2022 Siplin carried the football 87 times for 467 yards and three touchdowns in seven games last season. <strong>Michael Busbee/</strong>LB/2022 Busbee made 82 total tackles (62 solo) in eight games last season. &nbsp;
