Stone looked much better on Sunday than he did at the Stock Up Showcase in January. He seems to have added some muscle and his arm strength improved a bit. Stone was another guy who was jumping to get extra reps and shined during the redzone period. He was also one of the more athletic quarterbacks in the testing period.
Stone was the fifth leading freshman passer in the Southern Section with 1893 yards and eight touchdowns and he led Woodbridge to a CIF championship. He also ran for 570 yards with nine touchdowns.
Stone’s biggest asset is his speed and he was a top tester among the quarterbacks at the Prep Redzone Stock Up Showcase. He is dangerous as a scrambler and can make big plays running dive option for Woodbridge.
As a passer, he drops to his spot in the pocket quickly and has a smooth throwing motion. He has to put a lot of his body behind his throws to generate velocity, but his arm strength should improve as his body develops in the weight room. His speed makes him difficult to game plan for and once the arm strength keeps improving, Stone could be a prominent quarterback in Orange County for the next three years.
