Every time I watch Mukendi, I come away more impressed with the massive back. His physical profile is as good as any in the state, as he’s pushing 220 pounds and runs well. He’s actually been training some as a receiver recently, and there’s a thought among some of the FBS schools recruiting him that he could play there. Regardless, you want the ball in his hands, and 1,250 yards on 131 touches is proof of that.

I’ve got Shiloh #1 in these rankings, and the impressive thing I love about him is the versatility of what he can do with the football in his hands. He put up strong numbers for Asheville School this past season, rushing for 1106 yards and 13 touchdowns on the year. But, it’s more than the numbers. It’s his physical frame at 6’2 and 220 pounds now, per his Twitter profile – that size can allow him to be a number of things on the next level – running back, linebacker, even a receiver. And then the speed and agility Shiloh shows with that size is what sets him apart for me. From a recruiting perspective, Shiloh does have offers currently from Old Dominion and Eastern Michigan, along with interest from a couple of other schools. Camp season will be big for him.

We wrote about Mukendi when diving into the best running backs at the NCISAA ranks. He’s a bigger, more physical back with excellent contact balance and the ability to make some people miss in the open field. He’s a guy who should get better with more opportunities and I’d to see him continue to develop.

Just a rising junior, Mukendi played just seven games as a sophomore. He only had 45 attempts, but he made the most of his opportunities, showing off excellent power en route to a 375-yard, five-touchdown season. He’s far more elusive than you’d expect to see from a guy his size and he often avoids contact with quick feet, allowing him to maximize his yardage. I’m intrigued by his film and his athletic profile.
