Both camps were extremely well put together and plenty of players received some extra coaching from the camps. Former Arkansas Razorback J.J. Meadors has put in over a decade of work helping prospects earn scholarships and getting college paid for through athletics. We are going to look at a few recruits that impressed over the weekend.
Jackson Cox Jackson Cox 6'1" | 175 lbs | WR McGehee | 2022 State AR -Wide Receiver-McGehee-2022
It should come as no surprise that the McGehee wide receiver is continuing to hone his craft and improve week to week. Cox has excellent hands. He hauls in anything thrown in his direction. Cox continues to work on his routes and has a knack for getting open and working his way back for his quarterback. One attribute of his game that he continues to improve upon is his speed. Cox has earned three-scholarship offers so far this offseason and he has the potential to earn more. Cox put in great work with J.J. Meadors on Saturday and then made the trip to Northwest Arkansas to impress coaches and scouts at the College Coaches Showcase camp.
Stephen “Alex” Reynolds Stephen “Alex” Reynolds 5'11" | 270 lbs | DL Har-Ber | 2024 State AR -Offensive Line-Springdale Har-Ber-2024
The Har-Ber Wildcat made the short trip up I-49 to put some work in at the College Coaches Showcase. Reynolds displays quick feet and does an impressive job of getting out of his stance. He is a versatile player that has worked on the offensive line and the defensive line for the Wildcats. On the offensive line side of things, Reynolds has experience working at the tackle as well as the center positions. Reynolds is going to be a player to watch over the next few seasons. He has the drive and motor to be a special player on the offensive line.
Landon Semrad Landon Semrad 6'4" | 195 lbs | WR Prairie Grove | 2022 State AR -Wide Receiver-Prairie Grove-2022
Semrad is a wide receiver that continues to improve every time he gets in front of scouts. Semrad was extremely impressive in the College Coaches Showcase camp in Rogers on Sunday. He is a receiving threat for the Prairie Grove Tigers and is involved in the offense. Semrad can run the football as well as catch football. Semrad’s routes are impressive, and he does a great job of using his athletic ability to create separation from the opposing defender. He is another player that has made great use of the camps this offseason.
Max Meredith Max Meredith 6'1" | 230 lbs | TE Greenland | 2023 State AR -Athlete-Greenland-2023
The Greenland quarterback got the chance to display his versatility to a number of coaches and scouts at the College Coaches Showcase. Meredith has proven that he has no problem in finding the open wide receiver. However, at the Showcase in Rogers we got to see Meredith work some as a tight end and as a receiver and he was impressive. Meredith is a gritty player that will not be brought down on initial contact. Meredith is another player that put in solid work over the weekend and opened some eyes in the process.
Credit must be given to the coaches and scouts who put the camps on during the weekend. Many prospects had an excellent opportunity to learn from coaches and scouts that have made solid careers from sports. Not much more can be said about J.J. Meadors he has been a legend on and off the field and he continues to help kids earn scholarships to compete in sports.
