is one of the most versatile players in the class of 2029. He can play tight end, defensive end, outside backer and probably something else too. Joking, but not really. He is highly athletic and has the size to play anywhere. But for his article, I’m using his abilities at tight end. Even as a young buck, he’s shown the explosive ability to catch passes and block.
He stands 6-foot-6 and weighs 225 pounds with a long, strong frame. Jones is slippery and somehow is able to separate from defenders at 6-foot-6. His speed and pure athleticism are nice to see at this age, along with his abilities to block. As he develops, this could be a very good tight end prospect.
I think it’s just a matter of time before this Mid-Tennessee prospect gets onto the national scene because Jones is legit and may have some of the best upside of everybody coming out of the TN2029 class. When you turn on the film, you see a tall, athletic prospect that runs and moves well, showing a quick first step along with explosive flashes. You see a physically gifted young man that displays dominating game play on occasions, doing so at both tight end or edge rusher. The Hawks sophomore shows athleticism, speed and strong hands at tight end while also displaying an explosive first step and fierce pass rushing on defense. Jones is dripping with potential and he still has two more years of development to go, which is exciting to know as a scout. Jones does need to keep learning the game while forming his body further but there is a ton to like about this guy and who he can become one day on the college playing stage.
