Kissimmee Gateway Panthers Developing Talent

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>If you follow high school football in the state of Florida, nobody has to tell you how the good teams continue to stay on top every year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Let's be real. It is tough to build and sustain programs these days because many schools develop talent as ninth and 10^th graders, only to see those student/athletes, who were taught at a young age, transfer to another school and use those talents to enhance the program they move on to.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>You can argue the point all you want, but you will never convince anyone who really understands what football in this state has evolved into and continues to get worse as the powers who could step in simply turn their collective backs.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Instead of fighting to hold on to the players that were yours from the beginning, there are now alternate routes to travel. One of the perfect examples of taking a program in a different direction is Kissimmee Gateway and head coach <strong>Marlin Roberts</strong>.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This is a program that has always had athletes – in all sports. But over the years new schools have opened in the area, along with some that have been in place for decades and the Panthers have lost numerous prospects that have gone on to succeed after leaving.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Instead of dwelling on something that is out of control, this football program has taken a different route and is playing as an independent, going against other programs of equal talent and who are in the same situation.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>After finishing 4-6 a year ago, this off-season has watched things pick up – with several athletes attending events – while the team has come together and heads into the 2025 season with plenty of talent.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph
