Ethan is another edge rusher that I really like. Ethan has established himself as a menace to block and has continues to add raw power this of season. I really like Ethans motor and his ability to throw a variety of pass rushing moves on a lineman to get pressure on the quarterback. Ethan also shows an excellent first step which helps him gain an immediate advantage on the lineman trying to get his hands on him. Brother Rice has two big time defensive ends and I suspect quarterbacks are not going to have much time in the pocket to process a pass play.

Ethan is built like the new age prototypical edge rusher with a solid but very lean build. He has good reaction time off the snap of the football which is very important for defensive ends/edge rushers. You can see his overall strength through his power rush moves. One thing I was really impressed with was his ability to lean and bend coming off of the edge. His testing numbers confirmed that what you see in film is very real. Allen in my opinion was one of the overall top performers of the day!

Last season, Ethan had some success against top-end competition. I liek how Ethan always keeps himself in the play. At 0:40, Ethan does a nice job working upfield, shedding the RB’s block, and earning a pressure and hit on the QB. Similarly, 0:45 showcases another free rush, RB fails to pick him up, and Ethan earns another QB hit. In the run game, Ethan has a few moments like 1:05 where he’s able to anchor down and plug a gap. No complaints in terms of effort. One great offseason could propel Ethan to a great 2026 Varsity season, and I hope to see major improvements in a few months time.

Allen might have had the best power rush of those in attendance. He possesses a strong lower and upper body strength that can knock opposing offensive linemen off their anchor. It was impressive. Setting the edge for him will never be an issue. To go with the power, he is explosive off the snap. Watching him in the drills, he does have violent hands. He tends to go right into long arming and going to the power way too much. If he can continue to work on and trust his hands more, he’s going to diversify his moves and make himself a much more formidable pass rusher.
