Jordan Reyes | Prep Redzone Scout
Burford moves up over 100 spots to #141 overall after a senior season that saw him ranked second in the state in rushing with 2,867 yards and 42 touchdowns on 312 carries. 6’0” 210 lbs. he brings a physical, power-based style while still offering impressive athleticism that separate him from typical downhill backs. Strong build he consistently runs through tackles and finishes through contact to pick up yards after contact. He possesses good straight line speed and deceptive lateral agility allowing him to create when lanes are limited. Extremely elusive for his size showing quick feet, sharp cuts, and the ability to make defenders miss at the second level. His balance and contact toughness stand out as he absorbs hits without losing momentum and continues to fall forward for extra yards. Signed to Air Force on early signing day.

At 6’0”, 210 pounds, the Air Force commit is a true workhorse back who’s been the backbone of the Oakdale offense all season. He leads his section with 2,095 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns on just 181 carries, ranking second in the state and pushing for the top spot as the season wraps up. A hard-nosed, downhill runner, he thrives on contact running with low pad level, excellent leverage, and consistent forward momentum. He’s tough to bring down in space and uses a well-timed stiff arm to shed would-be tacklers and finish runs with authority. A classic power back with the discipline and toughness that should translate well to the D1 college level.

Burford is one of the more violent and punishing rushers across the state and put up some absurd numbers in week 7 on Friday night. The senior Air Force commit rushed for 423 yards and 7 touchdowns in a absolutely dominating performance and doubled duties on defense as well from his usual linebacker spot and impacted the game on both sides of the ball.He is one of the top overall football players across all of northern California and is having a unreal senior season so far and should have Oakdale moving far in post season play come November. He should fit perfectly into the AF run heavy system and be an ideal fullback for the next 4-5 years through out his collegiate career.

Burford is committed to Air Force and one of the top two-way players in northern California. He is a violent and physical runner that gets downhill quickly and has elite contact balance, natural forward lean and leg drive through contact to gain the tough yards inside. He had another stellar night on Friday rushing for 270+ yards and 4 scores while doubling duties on both sides of the ball and flying around and seemingly always around the ball from his linebacker position.
