In part 3 of our series, we wanted to shed even more light on a few more prospects who are in the upper tier of talent in Georgia high school football. These prospects, just like the players who were mentioned in part 1 and 2 of this series, have not gotten nearly as much attention for their talent as they deserve. Not only are they arguably some of the top prospects in their position group, but the are key contributors to their teams. This upcoming season, not only do we expect each of these players to show out, but we think they will continue to prove each of the reasons why we hold them in such high regard. Jack Luttrell (DB)- Hebron Christian / 2023 Luttrell is a very quick, and shifty player, which most certainly helps him in his role on the defensive side of the ball. Not only does his length help him to make plays on the ball and better position himself in coverage situations, but it also helps him to remain a consistent line of defense for his team. His footwork and the way he gets out of his breaks is also very clean. Luttrell plays with good discipline, and awareness of the game at hand. This same awareness helps him to take good angles on tackles, using his leverage and strength to make big plays. While we think he is a bit underrated in comparison to other players in his class, we certainly feel that he will be a big time player and prospect in the 2021 season. [player_tooltip player_id="95452" first="Amehre" last="Morrison"] (RB)- River Ridge / 2022 Watching film on Morrison is extremely fun due to his big play ability, and dynamic talent with the ball in his hands. Not only does he run with a good twitch and burst, but he has the kind of straight line speed that will take him home every single time if given the chance. When running the ball, Morrison runs at a good pad level, and with good balance. His vision, speed, and the way he is able to change direction on a dime helps him to gain plenty of yards on the ground. Often times, this running style allows him to make players miss, while also putting others in the dirt. Morrison not only runs well between the tackles, but he has proven to be able to turn the corner as well, which is where we often times see him make big gains. Even though Morrison does not currently get the respect he deserves, we think he will continue to shine in 2021, and he will show everyone why we think so highly of him. Daveon Walker (WR)- Warner Robins / 2022 As you evaluate Walker, it is clear that he is one of the top receivers in the state. To start, he has great route running ability, and he also has good burst out of his breaks and when he changes direction. He breaks down well on his routes, and he has solid footwork, which helps when aiming to eliminate false steps. Walker catches clean with his hands, and he runs with good bend, and transition of speed. His length helps him to make contested catches, and the fact that he tracks the ball well with his eyes is also a huge factor in the way he is able to make catches from various angles. After the catch, Walker is also lethal, as he has the speed to take it all the way. [player_tooltip player_id="108920" first="Nathan" last="Vail"] (DB)- Harrison / 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="108920" first="Nathan" last="Vail"] is by far one of the most talented DB’s in the entire state of Georgia. Not only does he have the ability to play in both man and zone coverage, but he also does a good job of bending, sinking, and changing direction. He gets in and out of his breaks cleanly, and he always positions himself well in coverage due to his long speed, as well as his short area quickness. Being able to stay in the receivers hip pocket consistently helps Vail to be able to create turnovers, as well as pass breakups. Additionally, Vail is great at flipping his hips and turning and running, which is rare of a player his age. To add to all of this, Vail is also an aggressive player, as he does a good job of coming up to make contact, and lower his shoulder when needed. The angles he takes is solid, he wraps up well, and this often times results in negative gains, or stalemates upon contact.
