Clayton is a good athlete who has a good feel for the game and does a bunch of things well. He’s a dual-threat QB who not only reads the RPO game well, but can make the quick throws. While his throwing motion may be a bit slower than some, his ball placement more than makes up for it. He throws with touch and has no issue rainbowing balls into his receiver’s hands downfield. His tape from last year shows the same traits in live reps, so I like where he’s at.

Strong arm with good accuracy in the short and intermediate game. Can drop it in the bucket on the deep ball. Displays good rhythm and timing, quick release, not really mobile, more of a pocket passer, but makes it work with his arm and trigger. Can scan field, distributes ball well, very good on corners and hitting receivers in stride in the intermediate/short game.

Clayton is a long quarterback with athleticism and raw tools that stand out right away. He throws a clean deep ball and has the arm strength to push it vertically when the opportunity is there. He’s a good athlete who can run the read option and extend plays outside the pocket while keeping his eyes downfield. Still early in his development, but there’s clear upside if everything starts to click.
