2028 Mortimer Jordan DB Zavier Burrow put together one of the stronger defensive back performances at the Faulkner University prospect camp. Burrow tested well with a 4.7 40 and 4.31 shuttle, and that movement ability translated onto the field during drills and coverage work. A physical corner, he consistently forced receivers to fight through contact and did a nice job staying attached to their hips throughout routes. His hand usage stood out in press coverage, where he effectively jammed receivers and disrupted timing. Burrow showed no hesitation playing bump-and-run, and he finished several reps by locating the football and getting his eyes up to make a play at the catch point.

Burrow shows an advanced feel for zone coverage, especially for his age. He understands spacing , route concepts, and consistently positions himself to make plays on the ball. His transition out of his backpedal is smooth, allowing him to break on routes without losing speed.

At the catch point, his timing stands out — he plays through the hands and tightens throwing windows effectively. His closing burst helps him arrive with intent and disrupt the catch. He’s also a reliable open-field tackler who wraps up and drives through ball carriers. The combination of instincts and technique gives him a strong foundation. He plays with control and awareness across the board.
