Class of 2026 Stars Making College Commitments This Week

The 2026 recruiting trail is picking up momentum with three commitments in the last couple of days.  We dive into who committed and what they bring to their new programs.   DL [player_tooltip player_id='1669566' first='Daniel' last='Howard'] (Lane Tech)   Howard is a 6'3” 270 pound defensive tackle who committed to Iowa State.  The Cyclones continue to come into Illinois for quality talent.  Powerful bull rusher putting pressure on the pocket.  Physical vs the run and makes tackles while taking on blocks.  Lot of momentum for the Lane Tech defensive lineman heading into the season.  He now has his college decision out of the way! EDGE [player_tooltip player_id='1619545' first='Carmelow' last='Reed'] (Rich Township)   Reed is another defensive lineman with the arrow pointing north as he is going to move way up the board.  Wisconsin got him on board with a recent commitment.  Second year in a row the Badgers have grabbed a big time defensive lineman from Illinois after snatching [player_tooltip player_id='830236' first='Jaylen' last='Williams'] in the 2025 class.  Reed is a 6'7” 250 pound edge player brings size, strength, and length.  He is an explosive edge that has an excellent spin move.  Plays with violence in his hands and explodes to the ball in both the run and pass.  Can line up both with his hand in dirt or standing up.   WR [player_tooltip player_id='1400848' first='Nathan' last='Cichy'] (Prospect)   Harvard got a big early commitment from this Prospect 6'1” 185 pound wide receiver.  Really like his body control making acrobatic catches, high pointing the ball in the end zone, and being a crisp route runner.
