proves to boast the level of athleticism to warrant his placement among the fastest in the state. Haug showed significant growth from his sophomore season under Center, throwing for 1146 yards, 11 TDs, and 4 INTs while adding 479 rushing yards (7.1 YPC) and 6 rushing TDs. Haug’s athleticism is worth noting, as he posted a 4.8 40 yard time, a 9′ broad jump, and a 4.6 shuttle time at the combine event back in November, along with a previously posted 32″ vertical jump and a 300 lb max squat. Haug took steps forward in his progressions as a passer, looking more in control of his mechanics, and flashing more of his strong potential displayed from his sophomore campaign. Haug could be the real deal in 2026, and a successful senior campaign could parlay into a huge boost in his recruiting profile.

took big steps forward with his passing mechanics as a junior, showing much stronger reads and is starting to live up to the athletic potential that he has flashed during his sophomore season. Haug finished with 1146 passing yards, 11 TDs, and 4 INTs while rushing for 479 yards (7.1 YPC) and 6 rushing TDs. There is quite a lot to like from his film, including his strong arm, quick release, and improving footwork, not to mention his playmaking ability on the run, showing plenty on tape to make him one of the biggest rising standouts in the state through the 2025 season. Haug could have a very high ceiling as he enters his senior season.

As you can see by his ranking in Iowa’s 2027 Class, Haug is not a new arrival to the party. He’s been on our radar for awhile. It’s that time of year when we’re refreshing player profiles with updated evaluations. Haug’s page needed one since we hadn’t checked out his junior film until now. He completed 70 of 123 throws for 1,146 yards and 11 touchdowns, adding 479 yards and six scores on 67 carries. Haug’s 11th-grade highlight video does a nice job of providing insight into current skills and abilities, while also revealing that there’s room to grow before reaching his ceiling. That should excite scouts. A strong arm, quick release and good mechanics stand out when watching Haug take game reps. He does well in working quickly through his progressions and makes smart decisions with the ball. Haug sells play fakes well. His athleticism allows him to keep plays alive off schedule with mobility and make him a threat to picks up yards with his legs.

Haug got his feet wet as a sophomore starter behind center in 2024. He accounted well for himself, tossing six touchdowns and rushing for 200 yards, a TD and a two-point conversion. We can witness how he operates watching his 10th-grade highlight video. Huag’s arm is capable of making all the throws. One of the first clips on the film features him zipping a ball from the from the left hash to the right sideline on a quick route. He certainly has the ability to stretch the field and moves well in the pocket. Haug appears to see the field well and is proficient in getting through his progressions. You could do a lot worse picking Haug as a 2025 breakout.

Haug experienced some growing pains as a first-year varsity starter in 2024, but he also flashed upside that could see him take a big step forward this coming season. As we witness while viewing his sophomore highlight video, his strong arm allows him to make all of the throws that stress defenses. It’s a matter of finding consistency as he develops. Haug is technically sound with his throwing motion, release and ability to pass on the run rolling out in both directions. His athleticism and speed make him a threat in the running game, where he racked up 200 yards (5.3 YPC) and a score on the ground. With experience under his belt, Haug is a player to watch in ’25.
