After an outstanding year of high school football action, it's time to take a look at some impactful rising sophomores that made their presence known this past year on Friday nights. Following my breakdown of some Kentucky 2028s that impress on film, here's my list of some explosive 2028 quarterbacks to watch for next season.

In the first place spot on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='1205218' first='Miles' last='Hollon'], a quarterback at Breathitt County High School. On top of excellent footwork and the ability to maneuver the pocket with ease, what I like about Hollon is his ability to quickly scan the backfield. I also like Hollon's outstanding deep passing, showcasing his ability to complete the challenging long pass under pressure.

I am additionally impressed with [player_tooltip player_id='1056924' first='Knox' last='Barrett'], a quarterback at Franklin County High School. What makes Barrett so impactful at the helm of the offense is his ability to remain composed under pressure and consistently connect with his man in the backfield. I also like Barrett's arm strength and quick release as he showed off his ability to get the ball out before the defense could make contact.

Claiming the number three spot on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='1604542' first='William' last='Shoptaw'], a quarterback at Hazard High School. Shoptaw stands out under center due to his size and ability to read the backfield, proving he can connect with his receivers for the touchdown pass despite heavy defensive coverage down the stretch. I also like how Shoptaw can outrun the defense and find an open man for the short pass.

Another skilled prospect to watch for is [player_tooltip player_id='1190755' first='Xavier' last='Isable'], a quarterback at Bowling Green High School. Isable has been on my radar for a while as he has consistently proven his athleticism and ability to make game-changing plays under center. In addition to excellent footwork, I like how Isable can connect with his receivers in stride and shake the defense in crucial moments.

Coming in at number five on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='1217665' first='Chase' last='Bell'], a quarterback at South Warren High School. Bell is another gunslinger to keep an eye on next season as his arm strength and pin-point accuracy make him a dangerous offensive weapon. On top of great size, I like how Bell can handle defensive pressure and get the ball out of his hands in crucial third-down situations.

Also worth mentioning is [player_tooltip player_id='871293' first='Leon' last='Melvin III'], a quarterback at Male High School. Melvin impresses me at the helm of the offense due to his ability to both blast past the defense on the ground and complete the challenging deep pass when his receivers are heavily guarded in the backfield. I also like how Melvin can handle pressure and use his durability to shake defenders.
