Grayer Hong is a name New Yorkers should know. The former Archbishop Stepinac Prospect, transferred to Berkshire and reclassified after this past season. Suiting up for the Punishers, the 6’0″ 190-Pound QB, led his squad to the #1 seed after Saturday and looked unstoppable. Hong showcased a strong arm, with outstanding accuracy. He threw a quick strike, and got the ball out to his open playmakers fast. Hong was an elite signal caller in Pool Play.

spent last season at Archbishop Stepniac in White Plains, N.Y., but has announced his intention to transfer to the Berkshire School in Suffield, Mass., after the 2025-26 school year. Berkshire will be the third team he’s played for in as many years, as Hong suited up for the Hackley School (Tarrytown, N.Y.) in 2024. Hong is a polished quarterback for his age. He has the confidence to throw the football into tight windows and has shown enough arm strength to do so at the high school level. He’s mobile, very good at extending plays with his feet and is also accurate when throwing on the run. Defenses must also respect his ability to carry the ball on designed run plays. He also seems to see the field well and processes what he’s sees quickly. Hong picked up a scholarship offers from Washington last year. That is currently is only Division I offer. His father, Shae Hong, played for the Huskies in the 1990s, which may explain why Washington traveled across the country to extend a QB offer. Hong should benefit from taking a step up in competition this fall. Continued work on his footwork and throwing mechanics will also help. He will have to add weight to handle the rigors of college football.

. The 2027 Prospect will reclassify back to 2028, and head to the New England region to finish out his High School Career. Standing at 6’0″ 170-Pounds, Hong displays a solid build for a QB, and holds one offer from Washington.
The Punishers QB, was extremely impressive throughout the weekend, and displayed an elite arm, tossing the ball into tight windows, and doing so with exceptional accuracy. I was impressed mainly by his footwork, and is IQ, as he moved through his progressions quickly.

Hong is one of two QB’s the Crusaders rotate between. Only one player can go as an X-Factor, but both QB’s deserve to be here. They are both X-Factors, as they both lead this Crusader offense, and have made impact plays. Hong played better the first time around against Chaminade, and if the Crusaders want to win the second time around, the 2027 QB will need a big time game in order to win.

Hong played mainly the second half for the Crusaders, where he kept Archbishop Stepinac in the game and created some offense for the Crusaders.
Hong displayed, good footwork, along with a solid release. His timing was solid, and he made the right reads on a majority of his throws. His accuracy was solid, and I liked his ability to move around the pocket, to create plays for the Crusaders. Hong is a guy to watch next season for the Crusaders.

Hong, who started for Hackley this past year, will be with Archbishop Stepinac next season. Hong has good tape, but I also saw him throw at a PRZ 7v7 event, which gave me a closer look at his arm talent.
Hong shows good ball placement down the field on tape, especially on throws that target the sidelines. His ability to extend plays and hit targets downfield shows up on film and it ties into his overall pocket awareness which stands out. In a 7v7 setting, I thought he consistently got the ball out quickly, hitting that first and second read right as it opened up.

Hong was a completely new prospect to me. The Hackley quarterback had a really nice few games with the 18u Punishers team.
Check out a cutup of some of the throws Hong made which feature a lot of nice plays to Worrell.
I thought Hong did a good job of getting through his reads quickly. On a four-second QB clock, there were many reps where he was able to get to his second and third read and deliver within the timing and structure of a concept.
For a player I did not know about beforehand, came away impressed with Hong’s Performance.
