As we continue to run down newcomers to our class of 2022 rankings, we take a quick look at the new athletes and tight ends in our rankings. ATH - [player_tooltip player_id="140840" first="Solo" last="Bambara"] | 6’6 / 215-pounds | Neumann-Goretti If you don’t know about [player_tooltip player_id="140840" first="Solo" last="Bambara"] yet, well now you do. The type of prospect that coaches salivate over, Bambara is a legitimate FBS prospect. The 6-foot-6 athlete shows great upside on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. He possesses tremendous athleticism and is an extremely explosive player. Once in the open field, it’s hard for anyone to catch him, let alone bring him down. His future at the next level is probably at defensive end but with his athleticism, he’s the type of player you can plug and play nearly anywhere and he’ll find a way to make a play. ATH - [player_tooltip player_id="146780" first="Tyrell" last="English"] | 6’0 / 200-pounds | Central Dauphin English plays running and cornerback for Central Dauphin and shows quality potential that could translate well to the next level. His future at the college level is likely on the offensive side of the ball. He provides a quality combination of shiftiness but also a strong downhill runner, proving to be tough to bring down thanks to his size. In the passing game, he shows good straight-line speed on his routes as well as having sure hands and not being afraid to make catches in traffic. He’s a player that if you’re not aware of yet, you should get to know. ATH - [player_tooltip player_id="121144" first="Tyree" last="Townes"] | 6’0 / 160-pounds | Cheltenham Townes is a prospect that is flying under the radar quite a bit. While he plays both wide receiver and free safety for Cheltenham, his future is at free safety. Townes shows high potential, a lot of it thanks to his great athleticism and his football IQ. He’s the type of player that is never out of a play and will always find a way to the ball in an attempt to make a play. He takes smart routes to ball carriers and is a sound tackler. On tape, he looks to be a very smart player with a great football IQ and field awareness which will serve him greatly at the next level ATH - Taemar Hull | 5’10 / 180-pounds | Sto-Rox Hull is a really fun player defensively to watch. Despite not being the biggest of players, he constantly finds himself in or around the line of scrimmage and getting into the backfield to make plays. He shows a really good first step as well as solid explosion that allows him to get into opposing backfields extremely quickly. He’s the type of player that plays at 100 miles per hour but does so in a controlled way as well, he shows good body control and rarely overruns ball carriers to make tackles. The biggest question for Hull is where at the next level he’ll fit positionally, that being said, he’s also the type of player that we’re confident will find ways to make plays no matter where’s at on the field. ATH - [player_tooltip player_id="156226" first="Kyle" last="Tipinski"] | 6’3 / 220-pounds | North Catholic A running back and defensive end for North Catholic, Tipinski is a player that is flying under the radar for a lot of people. As a ball carrier, he is a great downhill runner who shows good speed and explosion that allows him to burst through holes quickly. Despite being 6-foot-3 and 220-pounds, he shows quite the ability to shift directions as well, making him even harder to bring down. On defense, he has a great first step and really explodes off the line at times, giving opposing offensive lineman nearly no chance to stop him. He recently earned offers from Bowling Green and Toledo. ATH - [player_tooltip player_id="149982" first="Tahir" last="Mills"] | 6’0 / 200-pounds | Ridley Mills is another fun player to watch who has some solid upside. A versatile player, Mills lines up at quite a few positions for Ridley and shows the ability to make an impact at each position. Defensively, he shows good field awareness and anticipation, allowing him to commonly in the position to make plays. Offensively, he shows good route running abilities as well as the speed and explosion needed to hit open holes as a running back as well as to be a receiving threat at all levels. He also is quite elusive and shifty, making him hard to bring down. Really fun player overall who could be quite the player at the Division II level. ATH - [player_tooltip player_id="140832" first="Nadir" last="Mitchell"] | 5’8 / 160-pounds | Frankford Mitchell lines up at running back, wide receiver, and defensive back for Frankford but his future at the college level is most definitely at running back. On offense and as a ball carrier, Mitchell may be on the smaller side but still proves tough to bring down. He has good speed and hits holes quickly, if he hits the open field, he’s likely taking it to the house. When threatened to be tackled, he shows the ability to pick up a few extra yards before being brought down, a rather strong runner for his size. ATH - [player_tooltip player_id="149983" first="Robinson" last="Waddell"] | 5’10 / 170-pounds | Central Catholic Waddell continues the theme of playmakers here with the athletes. He makes plays both on the offensive and defensive side of the ball thanks to superb athleticism and good speed with a reported 40-yard dash time of 4.58. Defensively, he’s sound when it comes to making tackles and providing tight coverage on opposing wide receivers. He does a quality job of turning around and finding the ball to either break up pass attempts or come down with interceptions. Offensively, he has the burst and acceleration you look for in wide receivers at the next level while showing consistent and sure hands. TE - Eric Stevenson Jr. | 6’4 / 240-pounds | Archbishop Ryan: Stevenson is the only tight-end newcomer in our 2022 class rankings as he comes in as ninth-ranked tight-end and 310th player regardless of position in the class. Stevenson has the size you look for in the position at the next level already and towers over his current opponents on a weekly basis. He has strong and consistent hands while his route running is solid. He shows quality athleticism and while he doesn’t have breakaway speed, he moves decently for a player his size. He won’t be a big-play threat down the field at the next level but will be a great fit for short-to-medium passes and blocking situations.
