Malachi didn’t have a crazy stat line, but he still managed to find the endzone on a quick slant route. A route that is just a couple steps was able to open up so much space I didn’t even get the defender on the screen while recording the play. Malachi is a special athlete, and just a sophomore so there is so much development ahead of him. A couple times we saw him flash his speed and second gear in the open field, and in those moments it was clear the electric playmaker can play at a different speed than the rest of the field. Ball skills, nimble, agile, explosive, and simply fast are all ways to describe how the 2028 plays out wide.

Janesville Craig’s offense was led by an electric freshman WR in 2024 who put up 29/579/5 as a go-to target. As a freshman he averaged 20 yds/rec as a varsity athlete. The way he did it was what was so impressive. His quickness in/out of routes opened up separation very consistently. After the catch he was elusive, making DBs miss and beating angles with his acceleration and top speed. It also jumps off the tape how well he can adjust, twist, or contort his body at the last second to reel in passes all over the field or near the sideline. Big things are ahead for this athlete. Keep a close eye on him.

Malachi put together a great year for Janesville Craig on varsity. In his first season he proved he could be a reliable, go-to WR in big situations. Malachi does really well using his speed to either win deep or set up DBs and then quickly cut or comeback to the QB, opening up plenty of separation. The freshman WR also proved he is able to go up and get the ball as well as make the last second adjustment or twist, or contortion to reel in the pass.
