2028 Braxton County RB Logan Payne continues to raise his stock as he develops into one of the more intriguing backs in the class. Payne earned Top Performer recognition at our Exposure Series and turned that performance into an offer from WV Wesleyan, giving him an early boost on the recruiting trail. Beyond the offer, what stands out is how much physical development he has made over the last two years. With a big junior campaign looming, we believe there is still plenty of room for his stock to climb as more people take notice of the progress he has made.

early on over in Bridgeport. He had the fastest shuttle on site at 4.31 and was close to earning MVP honors. He is so shifty at 5’9 and 172 lbs., Payne was fun to watch all afternoon.

is a name we’ve liked this offseason as our Braxton County breakout player prediction, and this setting feels like the perfect place for him to back it up. The 2028 running back has been a steady piece for the Eagles over the past two years, but there’s a sense he’s ready to take on a bigger role. He’ flies’s flying a bit under the radar right now, which makes him even more interesting heading into this camp. This is the kind of environment where players like Payne can separate themselves, and don’t be surprised if he turns some heads once the reps start rolling.

enters the offseason as a name trending up after building on the early flashes that first put him on our radar. Payne initially caught our attention at a past summer camp and has since followed that up with tangible production, finishing his sophomore season with 820 rushing yards and seven touchdowns while also contributing heavily on the defensive side with 63 tackles and six tackles for loss. Despite playing at an under-the-radar program, his speed, quickness, and ability to make defenders miss consistently continue to show up on Friday nights. While updated sophomore highlights have yet to surface, the combination of increased production and two-way impact points to a player whose role and influence are still growing. As Braxton County looks to build momentum, Payne projects as a foundational piece and a strong breakout candidate heading into his junior season.

caught our attention at a camp this summer and debuts just outside of the Top 10 running backs in the class. He may be at an under-the-radar program, but was the Eagles’ leading rusher as a freshman with nearly 500 yards and 5 touchdowns, and the 4th-leading tackler on defense. Payne has quality speed and quickness as a young running back, and also does a nice job of making defenders miss consistently. You can see his potential when watching his freshman film, and he is a very good piece for their program to build around and get back in the win column more often.

. He was the leading rusher for the Eagles as a freshman last season with nearly 500 yards and 5 touchdowns while also finishing as the 4th-leading tackler with 60 on defense. I don’t have updated measurements for Payne, but he had a good build for a rising sophomore and looked athletic as a pass catcher.
