Expert Analysis
Jordan Reyes | Prep Redzone Scout
Taylor is a gifted athlete and a two way playmaker for Tulare Western. Projects as a WR at the major D1 level at 6’2” 170 lbs. with great growth potential in his frame. Possesses all the tools colleges look for with his combination of length, natural athleticism, and ball skills. Size advantage makes him a QB friendly target that can win at the catch point in traffic. Does a good job extending to play the ball outside his frame work and can rip it out of the air with strong hands. Runs past coverage with good downfield speed to stretch the field vertically with ease. Mixes up speeds to keep defenders off balance and is also a great target on broken plays that can pull in the 50/50 ball. One of the top 2028 WR’s in the state that finished with 69 receptions for 1,177 yards and 10 touchdowns as a sophomore. 4 D1 offers so far but that number will climb as the recruiting cycle progresses.

Taylor ranked second in receiving among 2028 wide outs in the state with 1,177 yards and 10 touchdowns on 69 receptions. The on field production matches the college level upside with his combination of size, athleticism, and ball skills. 6’3” 185 lbs. the length he possesses makes him an immediate mismatch on the outside and gives him a large catch radius. He’s got great extension to play the ball outside his framework while showing the body control to adjust to midair ball flight and in contested situations. Accelerates hard off the ball to close cushion and has a sustained second gear to threaten the secondary vertically. A tough tackle after the catch, he’s able to shed contact and then burst away to extend gains. Currently has four D1 offers but would expect his recruitment to skyrocket before long.

The impressive sophomore has 1,045 yards and 8 touchdowns on 59 receptions. At 6’3” 185 lbs. he’s got the ideal blend of physical traits with his combination of length, athleticism, and natural ball skills. Downfield speed and leaping ability make him a great vertical threat but also shows the ability to separate at the short/intermediate levels with clean route running and positional leverage at the catch point. Strong and confident hands, he plays the ball away from his body to bring in receptions in tight spaces and with defenders closing down. Great all around skillset with great potential and upside as he continues to develop. Holds offers from Fresno State and Cal so far.

Taylor who is one of the top prospects in the state in the 2028 class has been off to a good sophomore campaign for Tulare Western has looked to have picked up right where he left off his electric freshman campaign. He is one of the top two-way guys across the central valley and will be drawing plenty of P4 offers this off-season heading into his Junior year. Taylor currently holds offers from Cal and Fresno State and should be a national name by the time it’s all said and done. He had just under 100 receiving yards and 3 scores against Wasco in a narrow 34-33 win.

Taylor is part of a very talented and young receiving core across the valley in the 2027 and 2028 class and could be the best one by the time it is all said and done. He has great length and long speed for the position and covers a ton of ground off the ball while a true vertical threat over the top. He shows a huge catch radius, can make contested catches over multiple defenders and has tremendous body control and balance while in the air and tracking the ball. Taylor moves very well for his size and is a fluid athlete that is a no-brainer power five caliber receiver with tons of upside and length as he continues to grow and develop. He currently does not have any offers, but should start seeing his stock rise soon and should be a 10+ offer guy by the time he graduates.
