A young man I was able to evaluate live at our 7-on-7 event, currently ranked among the top 400 juniors in Pennsylvania. He stands 5’11, 175 pounds, five pounds heavier than when we last recorded his weight, and carries a 3.1 GPA.

He spent time at Georgetown University, Kent State University and Marist University on game day visits throughout September.

Unfortunately, he dealt with some serious injury complications toward the beginning of the season, to the point where his entire junior campaign was potentially in jeopardy. Thankfully, he has since returned to action and has been able to put together production over the past three or four weeks, sharing updates on both Twitter and Hudl.

He currently has four weeks of production available on Hudl, with his first three games of highlights running approximately a minute and a half.

His first rep has him aligned at safety in a two high look. He does an excellent job rotating, gaining depth and putting himself in position to capitalize on an errant pass. He recognizes a seam ball developing in his direction, gets into position as a deep center fielder and comes away with the interception.

Love his awareness and ability to rotate into the proper position. He also puts together a solid return after securing the football.

We already know about his playmaking ability, especially considering his second rep has him operating offensively at quarterback.

He is an all around athlete who is unlikely to be recruited as a quarterback, but that doesn’t diminish what he brings to the table. Watching him intercept a pass and generate return yardage, then turn around and take a quarterback sweep for roughly 40 yards, reinforces the idea that he is an athlete worth building around.

His third rep has him blitzing from his defensive back alignment, generating enough pressure to nearly force an interception. Another example of his versatility and ability to impact the game in different ways.

The fourth rep is particularly interesting. He executes a play action rollout at quarterback and delivers the football to an open receiver near the corner while taking a significant hit from an incoming defender.

That rep tells me more about his toughness than it does about his accuracy, timing or overall throwing ability.

He knows the defender is coming, understands he is about to take a shot and still executes the play. He doesn’t abandon his responsibility or rush the throw simply to avoid contact.

That is a tough football player who is willing to execute his assignment regardless of the physical punishment coming his way.

Between his defensive instincts, versatility, offensive playmaking ability and willingness to absorb contact, there is plenty to like about his overall profile. Considering the injury complications he dealt with earlier this season, it is encouraging to see him back on the field and producing.

I want to continue monitoring his progress as he gets more games under his belt. There is a lot to appreciate about the way he plays football, and his ability to contribute in several different roles remains one of his biggest strengths.

Chase Goddard Chase Goddard 5'11" | 170 lbs | DB/WR/WR Lower Dauphin | 2028 State PA enters the PRZ PA Exposure Series ready to compete and showcase his physical defensive style against high-level talent. At 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, the Lower Dauphin defensive back brings solid size and strength to the secondary. Goddard plays with confidence and aggression while showing the ability to compete effectively in coverage situations. His physical tools and willingness to challenge receivers should allow him to stand out during the weekend’s competitive drills. The exposure series gives Goddard another opportunity to prove himself against some of the region’s top playmakers.

Goddard made a ton of plays for Philly’s Finest I can see why my PA buddies are already high on him with his ranking. Chase Goddard Chase Goddard 5'11" | 170 lbs | DB/WR/WR Lower Dauphin | 2028 State PA currently is 149th overall in Pennsylvania’s 2028 class, he was one of the best defenders all weekend. He plays for Lower Dauphin High School and had 42 tackles along with 2 interceptions as a sophomore. It makes more sense now after watching his tape and his play on Saturday why I believe he was one of the best defenders on site.

Chase Goddard Chase Goddard 5'11" | 170 lbs | DB/WR/WR Lower Dauphin | 2028 State PA had a mixture of varsity and junior varsity film last year. One thing that stood out from his play at safety is that he is not afraid to come upfield and hit someone. He does a good job of reading the play and making the tackle in the open field. It is quite impressive to see him fly upfield from his deep safety position and make tackles in the open field. He also showed good coverage skills. Then on junior varsity, he played some wide receiver, and he showed good hands catching the ball. The other impressive part about Goddard is that he played last year with a cast on his left hand for part of the season. Goddard showed promise last year and should be in line for a big year for Lower Dauphin this year.
