Top Class of 27 Running Backs in Region 7 This Season

Florida has long been a hotbed for high school football talent, annually producing some of the nation's top running back prospects.  Florida athletes are known for their speed, agility, and raw athleticism; these running backs have made names for themselves and caught the attention of college coaches and scouts.   These players are talented and have college-level ability. Some have a few offers, but all have the ability to play college football at some level.   There are some big-time, highly rated prospects and several sleeper prospects who should all be getting looks at the next level. This list is full of stud prospects. Dorien Irving-Jones - Venice High   Height/Weight: 6'0", 192 lbs   Stats Summary: 192 carries for 1,398 yards and 17 TDs. 6 receptions for 108 yards and a touchdown.   Analysis: Irving-Jones is a complete back. At 6'0", 192 pounds, he runs with power and authority but also has the speed to take it to the house. He's got great vision—he sees the hole before it develops—and when he hits it, he's explosive. The 17 touchdowns tell you he's a guy you can trust in the red zone. Plus, he's shown he can catch the ball out of the backfield, which makes him a threat on all three downs.     2. Johnathan Bueno - Western High   Height/Weight: 5'10", 180 lbs   Stats Summary: 131 carries for 946 yards and 10 TDs. 16 receptions for 219 yards and a touchdown.   Analysis: Bueno is a do-it-all back. He's got quick feet, great balance, and a knack for making defenders miss. At 5'10", 180 pounds, he's tough enough to run inside but shifty enough to break outside. What sets him apart is his ability to impact the passing game—16 catches for over 200 yards!     3. Kamari Smith - Haines City High   Height/Weight: 5'9", 150 lbs   Stats Summary: 125 carries for 926 yards and 10 TDs. 5 receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown.   Analysis: Smith is the definition of a playmaker. He might not have the size of some other backs, but his quickness and burst more than make up for it. He's got that ability to turn a small crease into a big play, and with 10 touchdowns, he's shown he knows how to finish drives. He's slippery in the open field and a guy who can flip the momentum of a game in an instant.     4. Jaikim Haggans - Newsome High   Height/Weight: 5'9", 180 lbs   Stats Summary: 120 carries for 867 yards and 4 TDs. 3 receptions for 20 yards.   Analysis: Haggans is a grinder. He's got a thick, sturdy frame at 5'9", 180 pounds, and he uses every bit of it to run through contact. He's incredibly reliable and is always picking up positive yards. His 7.2 yards per carry show he's making the most of every touch.     5. Elisha Gamble - Park Vista High   Height/Weight: 5'8", 150 lbs   Stats Summary: 149 carries for 857 yards and 5 TDs. 8 receptions for 48 yards and a touchdown.   Analysis: Gamble is a back with speed and quickness. He's got good stop-and-start ability. At 5'8", 150 pounds, he's not going to overpower anyone, but his elusiveness makes him a nightmare to tackle. He's a weapon in space and a big play waiting to happen.     6. Jayden Ammons - West Orange High   Height/Weight: 5'8", 170 lbs   Stats Summary: 110 carries for 570 yards and 6 TDs. 8 receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown.   Analysis: Ammons is a versatile, 3-down back. He runs with a low center of gravity, which makes him tough to bring down, and he's got enough burst to hit the edge when needed. His ability to contribute as a receiver gives him added value. He's the kind of back who does a little bit of everything well and always seems to find a way to make an impact.     7. Analysis: Gerald is a physical back who brings an edge to the run game. At 5'11", 195 pounds, he runs downhill with authority and doesn't shy away from contact. He's got a knack for picking up chunk yards, averaging nearly 8 yards per carry.     8. Gianni Flore - Newsome High   Height/Weight: 5'10", 210 lbs   Stats Summary: 88 carries for 453 yards and 7 TDs.   Analysis: Flore is a true power back. At 5'10", 210 pounds, he's built to punish defenders, and he thrives in short-yardage and goal-line situations. With 7 touchdowns on just 88 carries, he's shown he can finish drives. He's a physical, no-nonsense runner who's going to get the tough yards every time.
