A fresh evaluation of Fereday is overdue after last writing about the Columbus Catholic standout at this time last year. Part of that had to do with Fereday missing all but three games this past season. He managed 5.5 tackles, two of which were solo stops, in that time. Fereday put together a junior highlight video from the action he did see. He happens to be a big, agile athlete in the trenches. Fereday’s frame still has plenty of room to add mass and strength without the loss of quickness and burst. He does well blocking in close quarters with strength and active hands. The athleticism and nimble nature allows him to easily reach blocks in space. Fereday could raise his stock significantly on the summer college team camp circuit.

Fereday took another step forward in his development as a sophomore, piling up 24.0 tackles as a defensive lineman and holding down the left tackle spot on the O-Line. As we can witness while watching his sophomore highlight video, Fereday plays with bad intentions, regularly doling out doses of physicality on overmatched opponents. He’s one on which to keep an eye moving forward because there’s excellent potential here.
