Amir just made his commitment to John’s Hopkins the other day and the Blue Jays are getting a heck of an athlete. A high academic prospect, Amir carried a 3.7 GPA and a 1300 SAT and was receiving interest from IVY’s as well but he is all in on staying local with JHU.
A physical CB, Amir is rocked up and will drop the hammer on the ball carrier. He has shown the ability to play S, CB, or in the slot and is extremely smooth in his backpedal/transitions. Amir displays fluid hips, quick feet and can stick his foot in the ground and break on the ball with burst. He can stick on the receivers hip, run the route and gets his hands on the ball often for PBUs. Or he can play in simple zone, read the play/QB’s eyes and instantly attack to make the play.
Amir is a player I have always like with how tough and physical he is paired with his smooth movements. Don’t be surprised if he is a key contributor down the line for back-to-back Centennial Champs and perennial D3 playoff contending Blue Jays.
