Spring Rankings Update: 2023 ATH’s

Movement among the ranked Athletes for the Class of 2023 has occurred since our initial rankings with more names to surface soon undoubtedly. One constant throughout the process so far has been <a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/isaac-smith-3/">[player_tooltip player_id="107295" first="Isaac" last="Smith"]</a> from Itawamba Agriculture High School. IAHS is talent rich in Northeast MS and Smith seems to be the next man up. The skill guy holds on to the number 1 spot in our Spring ATH rankings and will be an easily make the Top 10 of the overall rankings. With offers from both SEC schools (Mississippi State and Ole Miss), as well as powerhouse Notre Dame, already secured, this will be a big time recruitment. <a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/matthew-nixon/">[player_tooltip player_id="107298" first="Matthew" last="Nixon"]</a> of West Jones and <a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/traylon-minor/">[player_tooltip player_id="107299" first="Traylon" last="Minor"]</a> of Natchez, hold on to Top 5 spots in this update and barring something crazy should see recruitments heat up as their junior seasons approach this fall. A new name to know making his initial appearance in the rankings belongs to <a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/dk-jenkins/">[player_tooltip player_id="119867" first="DK" last="Jenkins"]</a> of Mendenhall. Thru the spring Jenkins spent a good deal of time at the QB spot where his athleticism shined and put him on our radar. Although probably not a longterm lock at QB, the athletic ability present will put him on many radars moving forward as a skill position player. Rounding out the top 5 from Lee County, <a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/jamarcus-shines/">[player_tooltip player_id="107300" first="Jamarcus" last="Shines"]</a> of Shannon, will have the opportunity in the next season to do just as his name suggests due to his compact frame that shows true agility and athleticism. Shines is a guy we expect to take a major step forward in the remainder of this year. Just a bit on down the list appears more guys we expect to see major steps forward this year as their positions become more defined. <a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/kamp-shepherd/">[player_tooltip player_id="120873" first="Kamp" last="Shepherd"]</a> will be known as a force in the private school ranks before his high school career ends. Pascagoula native <a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/keilon-parnell/">[player_tooltip player_id="107301" first="Keilon" last="Parnell"]</a>, also has a big fall 2021 ahead for him.
