About Jalen

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m growing into a bigger frame, but I am playing physical, quick, and making good reads. I’m able to make quick cuts and read gaps well as a running back too!

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I feel that hard work shows and doing extra outside of what is assigned is necessary for success. I’m a hard working individual, I trust in my team enough to stay to my job. I am also a good listener.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Member of the National Science Honor Society Member of the National Honor Society College Board National African American Recognition Program Awardee

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed a leadership role by keeping my team at a good mindset while also constantly driving them to be better. I communicate well with my teammates and coaches and am willing to have conversations with anyone. I have done close to 30+ hours of community service annually.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have lost family members during seasons, which I have pushed through with extra motivation to win. I broke my hand in the middle of the wrestling season and had to have surgery. The surgery/recovery sidelined me for 8 weeks. I was released the day before regionals and won regionals wearing a cast on my left hand.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that is willing to take a chance in me and put trust that I can prove my worth.
